    Beggar and Druggy Garden!
It is not at all beautiful. Just a connection point if you want to go from A to B in Manchester. It is full of beggars and druggies and it is too hard to feel safe here. Couple of street foods are available, but a waste of time and money to stop and have a glance.

    Missing an opportunity
This large central area really should be a centrepiece for the city. At times, it seems like all roads lead here, and almost always, you wish they didn’t! I think the council have tried various things over the years, but none of them have really worked. I’m more than happy to walk through it during daytime hours but would be more reluctant after dark. It attracts a diverse crowd and upon entering my immediate priority is to get through to the other side and into the rest of the city. Hopefully at some point, they will sort this out, but it does seem a long way off just at the moment.

    Rotten spice gardens
Deteriorating if thats possible, it really is a disgrace to Manchester the council seem hell bent on making this the leadt enticing place in the city. The junk yard they now have on half of the so called gardens is rotting. Nasty little food vendor stalls where Botulism is a free side are still there, dead trees concreted over planting beds and the berlin wall all add to the gross atmosphere. This is a place you rush through when trying to get some place else. Anything not to accosted by spice heads, pick pockets and unsavoury gangs of youths. If you come to Manchester DONT GO HERE. Visit mayfield park instead

    Not nice
Sad place. First time visiting Manchester and hotel is right next to picadilly gardens. Unfortunately it just seems to be taken over by huge groups of shall we say unpleasant youths, druggies, people that look like pickpockets and sadly a huge amount of homeless. As others of said, Its tolerable in the day but no way should you travel through here at night especially alone. Sad as it seems like the area could be something special but it's almost like a beautiful garden that has been taken over by rodents and ruined, no insult to the homeless as it's very sad to witness, especially in 2023... it's the others that ruin it. The druggies and gangs.

Arriving early evening in the bright sunshine we saw it probably at its best. It was popular, with quite a number of people both enjoying the green space with seating and passing through.

Fine sculptural monuments are here including a Regal Queen Victoria.

It's the main space in the middle of Manchester but feels like a vulnerable spot for tourists with lots of very dodgy people hanging around. A local told me to never walk across it alone late at night. Nice fountains though.

They’ve tried loads and loads of things over the years to make this a nicer place to visit but so far haven’t really succeeded.

I think it’s fair to say it’s better than it was but I still wouldn’t consider going there in the late evening even though I’m a person who doesn’t normally avoid places.

Let’s just say it’s full of characters!

During the daytime it can be fun for families with the fountains and a nice sunbathing place for the office workers when the Manchester weather allows.

This is still far from my favourite area of the city centre but it does seem to be getting better. Fairplay to the council for the work they’ve done and hopefully it can get to the status that a great city like Manchester should have.

The Fountains are great and it is looking a lot cleaner these days. Let’s hope the work continues as this should be a centrepiece of the city.

The worst of all Manchester squares, quite grubby looking and full of delinquents. Only a place I literally just pass through quickly. Problem with it is there is just too much going on with the bus stops, trams and everything else.

Even worse than I remember it.
Large parts of the concrete peeing wall are still there.
The central coffee shop is closed and derelict.
The undesirable ones gather in large groups.
Part of it is fenced off for redevelopment.
All this was at lunchtime. I dread to think what the place is like after dark.
