Disregard the usual negative stereotypes, Canal Street is a cracking night out. Welcoming, friendly, vibrant and plenty of choice (the bars, not the men). Some bars are pricey but worth a visit. Stumbling distance from Chinatown and Piccadilly too.

Europe's biggest gay village is a great spot even as a strait guy. A lot of nice pubs and restaurants, friendly vibe, clean, safe and great street art. No one should miss a walk down Canal Street when visiting the city.
