A fascinating museum with a lots of interesting things to learn and enjoy. There is a big collection of fossils, skeletons, alive reptiles and amphibians which is pretty cool to see.

Great place to visit for dinosaur loving children. My daughter loved it as a 9 year old she was fascinated by all the dinosaurs biggest disappointment is that half the museum was shut due to renovation but we are going back next year to see it all

Visited on Saturday 20th August, myself and another carer with a young man in a wheelchair who we support.
I had already booked two tickets, however, as he needed a 2:1 another carer was necessary.
I had phoned ahead and spoken to someone who told me it was fine.
I arrived at the museum, the lady on the door was fine, however, the man checking the tickets was very rude and abrupt! He made a big deal about only having 2 tickets.
Very disappointing as it’s already difficult getting back out after Covid without awkward people making life even harder.
Will not be visiting again.

Interesting exhibits. Our children loved the T-Rex. Very well laid out and clear to follow arrows for a one way system. Good Covid precautions.
Only slight negative was the lady on the reception desk was a bit abrupt when I couldn’t hear her with a mask on when she asked for a name for the bookings. I answered her 3 times with my name and there was a misunderstanding of some sort.
Other than that it was a brilliant day out for the family.
Very busy and glad we booked!

A good museum, mostly taxidermy and insects though. Some good dinosaur bits too. Enjoyed this museum and would recommend

We’ve visited the museum countless times and have always had a really enjoyable trip.
This was no different.
However, with the “Ancient Worlds” section closed for refurbishment, it meant that our trip was quite short.
The museum is very much animal focused now with the latter being removed! Obviously fantastic for children, and my 5 year old had no complaints!
However, I do feel there is a little something missing.
On the plus, they have really thought out Covid situ. One way system and booking online.
Which meant it was nice & quiet, and we weren’t rushed through any of the displays.
Thoroughly enjoyed, but if not an animal lover then maybe not for you until refurb finished!

My wife and I took our six year old grand daughter to visit the museum. The staff were very helpful and our grand daughter had a great time. Well worth a visit it’s both educational and fun.

The museum is free and located close to the train station and the city centre so nice and easy to access. The exhibits are very traditional and don't really grab your attention. There is plenty to see but it's all laid out very much the same way and gets uninspiring after the first two floors.
