Very nice lighted building at night
Manchester Central is a Convention Complex located in the surroundings of the center of Manchester, one of the main important buildings in England. I was walking around the city and I saw it at night from outside. It was very well lighted (in green), so it is a very nice building.

Good for a standard Christmas Party
Went at the beginning of December for a work Christmas Party. This was part of their big Christmas events where a lot of companies buy into the event. Unfortunately this meant the menu was very limited. The entertainment was a little lacklustre because they only performed three times throughout the night. If you're going to advertise this spectacular event, you should probably actually put the show on more than three times. Overall not a terrible experience, but not an amazing one either.

Great place and no congestion charges
The city is under great changes and appears very clean. Did not have any problems finding places as it is well sign posted, the trams ran on time and plenty of cyclist lanes. Parking a bit difficult, but reasonably priced if you go for the 24 hours rather than hourly. The town is vehicle free without congestion charges, a great place to shop....Forget London, come to Manchester

    So so
Went for the snooker and our seats had a great view. However, the doors opened at 12, we joined the queue at 12:10 and it took nearly half an hour of queuing in the rain before we entered the venue. You are expected to sit quietly during the snooker but neither my wife or I could get our legs in properly making the whole 3 hours very uncomfortable. I would think twice about going again. Why are seating rigs designed with such poor leg room in this modern age.

Went for a destinations show with college for a trip. Was absolutely awful as soon as people in the stalls saw we were wearing uniform they turned away and purposely ignored us. It was unfair and made it obvious they were ignoring us.

Went to a Moroccan nights party with work and have to say it was very impressive. They catered for hundreds of people incredibly well - very efficient. The music was so good all night and the act was good too. Very well organised and presented.

We travelled from Sheffield for a short break in Manchester using the train. Two good journeys, trains on time, staff helpful and no problems-thank you. It helped that our hotel was only a couple of minutes away from the station.

Manchester Central is a soulless conference centre. The front facade is the old GMEX centre, part of it remains empty unless used for filming these days.

There is still a train station linked to it nearby.

I have had cause to visit it several times in the last year for business reasons. It is functional.

Seats for the snooker were awful. I'm not a big guy but could not comfortably fit on one of the tinny plastic seats.

Would be bad enough for a 2 hour show, but a long snooker match, awful. Had to leave at half time, a waste of 50 quid. Never again.

I was at the warhammer 4000 even yesterday and the way the guys in the blue suits talk to the staff is disgusting. I’ve attended this even for all 3 days and I’ve noticed it more than once this weekend this is not on!..The staff in the black suits and radios are lovely and always busy and got a smile on their faces this is lovely to see. The guy on the bar was sat down and that’s really unprofessional!

Applied for FREE tickets - travelled up from Oxford to see it. Most shows require children to be much older - Ninja Warrior is 8+

Manchester Central easily accessed via public transport. General facilities provided by the venue (toilets, cloakroom, small cafe area).

Excellent fun and so interesting to see behind the scenes of a TV show - first time the girl (11) and boy (8) had seen anything like this.

Top Tips.
*Wait in the queue can take a while (outside before doors open and then inside waiting for studio doors to open
*Don't wear clothing with slogans/brand names on as these can be picked up by the cameras
*Primarily friends and family sit in the area that will be filmed, gaps are filled in from studio audience but you'd need to get to front of outside queue to be in with a chance, might be an idea to manage expectations if this might cause disappointment. You can see just as well (you are opposite the main audience, and your audio is being recorded
*Take food and drinks, we didn't and wished we had!
* Be prepared to join in and have fun! We saw 20 contestants and cheered each one #BeatTheWall

I'm unsure how much of this is the venue and how much was the event (though I've been to events where access was key and it wasn't great then either) but the disabled access for Comic-con today was terrible, and when you were in there the aisles were far too narrow and nowhere near enough stopping places. Keep this in mind if you plan to go to events here and have mobility and accessibility needs.

Hi Shin - we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have the best possible experience this weekend. Accessibility is a top priority for the venue; however we understand that Comic Con is a really busy event, which may have made it a little harder for people to get around. Should you be planning to visit us again, please get in touch with us on info@manchestercentral.co.uk and we will provide the relevant accessibility information for the event you’re planning to attend. We really appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share this with the event organiser.
