It is fitting that Manchester should pay tribute to this man for all he did for us in the war. The way he was treated in subsequent years, just because of the way he was, was frankly appalling. It is somewhat appropriate that he is now gazing in the general direction of the Rembrandt Inn, just across the Rochdale Canal. Sackville Park is not exactly the prettiest park I have visited, though maybe I came at not the best time of year. The statue could do with a clean-up. Well worth seeing if you are in the area.

The statue is in Sackville Gardens in the Gay Village. Lots of squirrels running around. Statue could do with a good clean.
Was lovely to be able to talk to my daughter about history. She sat on the bench and asked a lot of questions.

It's a very lovely memorial park and certainly work a visit if you are nearby. I love the fact he is life sized and on the bench to sit next to.

Closeby where he sits is also an AIDs/HIV memorial, with the history of the disease, which is really educational too. The park itself is rather simple though, and I think flowers and planters would be beautiful. But it's still really nice to see a green space in Manchester.

Came across this when walking. A fitting tribute to a man who should not be forgotten for what he did in the Second World War and also for how badly he was treated later in life

I am from Arizona in the USA and took the tour of Manchester that started at the Alan Turing Memorial. I learned about LGBTQ rights and horrors in England in the 60's, science discoveries that have changed the history of the World, the history of the Industrial Revolution that started in Manchester, how the textile industry in Manchester helped stop SLAVERY in the USA. Incredible history of Manchester and of England.

We were in Manchester for less than a day and got to explore the city just a little bit. I am glad that we were able to find this memorial and talk with our daughter about Alan Turing's legacy. We felt touched that his life was immortalized in this sculpture and hope that other families will pay homage to this brave man.

Right in the center of the city, in a small corner park, there is a somewhat unusual monument to one of the truly great men of the 20th century. His story is both inspiring and tragic, and—if you don’t know about the significant role that Alan Turing played in World War II—look him up first and then sit down with him for a photo. Think of it as a way of giving the man our collective thanks. He certainly deserves them . . . Then spread the word.

Lovely park right in the centre of e city. It makes a nice change to see a statue seated rather than on a platform.
