Since being a child I had always been a big fan of the Vulcan. Living close to Finningley, our family would regularly visit the airbase for the annual air display and watch open mouthed as they scrambled into the air. After eight years of display flying this aircraft is expertly maintained and surrounded by enthusiastic volunteers who tell the story of its restoration and return to flight and also the role of the V Bomber force during the Cold War. XH558 is currently in temporary storage while a permanent home is built at DSA.

Excellent trip with plenty of informative boards to give historic context. And of course the highlight the Vulcan itself. Such a shame that it will not be remaining there
