A fantastic hidden gem. Free entry. Just spent an hour wandering around looking at the different engines. The staff are clearly enthusiastic about their job. Very informative. My 2 year old absolutely loved it, he even got to blow the whistle and play with a miniature engine.

Lovely day out, impressive steam museum, dog friendly, lots to browse in garden centre and attached curio shops afterwards. Improved toilet facilities would make it five star 👍👍

We went to initially for some plants (its that time of the year) we saw that the steam Museum was open and Wow could not believe the array of working static steam engines on display and free to go in, I could have spent a few hours in there but as my wife and grandson were with me I had... More

Markham Grange Nursery has a range of other attractions under its roof in addition to plants. As part of what the website describes as "Markham mall" are a tea room / café, Bigfellas and Exquisite clothing, a pet shop, a separate aquatics shop and a unit dedicated to dolls houses. Plenty of parking, not as expensive as I had expected.

If steam engines are your thing then this venue is worth a visit as there are plenty of engines on view and steaming on a Wednesdaycall in and have a look when your visiting the garden centre which occupies the same site.
