Never been here before despite only living an hour away, saw it on groupon and thought we would try it out. We had a lovely day plenty of animals to be seen, although many were hiding from the cold. We had a great day with 2 children aged 9 & 5. We didn't eat here as its really expensive for... More

As a group of 5 adults and 3 young children ages 2 and 3 and 6 we were suprised how good value this was Lorrakeet landing was our favourite feeding the Lorrakeets and my son loved the monkeys and there was so much for them to do a lot of walking but it knackered the kids out on journey home.... We cane here with our family (2 adults and 3 children) for a Christmas treat/day out. We all had an amazing day. There are so many different varieties of animals, all very well looked after and healthy. The tigers and lions were beyond me and literally being able to get up face to face with them through a glass screen... More

I had never heard of this view until recently so visited with my teenage daughter during the winter. I thought it was pretty small but its bigger than I expected and we spent 4 hours there quite easily. The animals seemed very alert and you could get really close to nearly all of them. Some of the enclosures are a... More

I have had little money for a lot of my life so I recognise underinvestment when I see it and there is evidence of it everywhere: Many of the facilities for viewing have been closed. Stimuli for the animals are rotting. Electric fencing had been erected within touching distance of the public, the restaurant area was reminiscent of a greasy... More

Was my grandsons 3rd birthday. Weather not good. But he wanted to go to the zoo. We had a great time. It has been a while since I've been. Looks as if a lot of money spent on it. Animals in brilliant condition. Never been so close to a tiger or lions. Who didn't think much of us !!! Just... More

Annoying that you have to pay £3.50 to park but at least now you pay on exit rather than have to walk to the zoo and then back to your car with the ticket. Quick to get in. Easy access for pushchairs and young children. It's a bit if an effort up the hill but you can always take the... More

A lovely zoo set around a castle. not the biggest but a good size. There is an area for picnics which is good. The castle is an added bonus. Animals look well looked after and healthy- they don't look sad like you see in some zoos. There is a nice little land train that takes you up the hill to... More

I am at a loss as to how this place is allowed to keep animals. They show signs of obvious depression and the concrete enclosures are nowhere near big enough!! There were several animals who were in need of immediate veterinary attention. I actually felt guilty for going and paying to keep these animals in such horrendous conditions!!
