Takes you through the history of Lancaster from roman times up to the present day. Worth a visit because it's free and interesting too.

Very interesting, informative, varied historical subjects, war memorabilia fantastic. Friendly staff, though could have done with little seated area for short rest as I was carrying a heavy bag and obviously nowhere to leave it. Overall great visit.

The exhibitions are very interesting and informative. Had to go back another day as didn't have long enough on my first visit.

Very good little museum, and history of lancaster. As a yorkshire lass, it's nice to read up facts from the other side of the pennines!

well laid out for eric and ernie and the upstairs as well, giving a good visual impact to lancashire life and the war, some stunning regimental silver on display.

Thank you for your excellent review. The Morecambe & Wise exhibition is a temporary one and will be changing soon to '141 Days, The Battle of the Somme', produced by the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum. So perhaps you can visit us again soon to see something new. More

Very interesting museum about Lancaster's past. Well worth a visit, even if just to 'kill' half an hour. Takes you back to the Roman occupation of Lancaster to the present day.

I had a couple of hours to kill in Lancaster and had previously thought of visiting the museum but passed it by. This time I dropped in and was not disappointed. On the ground floor was a very good series of exhibits showing the life and careers of Morecambe & Wise. Eric was born and brought up in nearby Morecambe... More

The museum contains some pretty interesting archeological finds and artifacts, and gives an insight into everyday life in the old times. However, the main attraction in my opinion is the section on military history and the King's Own Regiment.

Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed the King's Own gallery so much. You might be interested in the '141 Days, The Battle of the Somme' exhibition that we have opening on the 23rd July that is being produced by the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum. The exhibition runs until November. More

We went in whilst walking through the town. Man on reception was very helpful and the artefacts were very well displayed. There is also an exhibition running of Eric Morecombe's life with footage of some of the duo's funnier moments. Altogether a good exhibition but as this is on two higher floors also, it might not be too good for... More

Many thanks for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your visit, and talking to our staff. We do have a stair lift so happily do enable people who cannot manage the stairs, to view our main galleries on the first floor. More
