My girlfriend and I went for a couples pottery lesson (2 1 to 1 sessions) and it was fantastic. We both had a great time, getting good advice and assistance from the staff. They were extremely helpful and great for all ages really. You can really get stuck in and have a lot of fun doing it. We would definitely recommend it!

This was the second time we'd been to Fired 4 U and it's a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours. There is a wide choice of items to decorate, as well as a wide range of paints and tools. My husband and daughter are very artistic whilst I don't have a creative bone in my body but I still managed to produce something which looked half decent (thanks to Jane helping me salvage a disaster at one point). The atmosphere is very relaxed and we didn't feel rushed. We also enjoyed a very nice cup of filter coffee!

It was super to see you all again Lisa! Glad you all enjoyed it and what your creation is far from being a near disaster - it looks fabulous - fresh out of the kiln :). Looking forward to welcoming you all into the studio again next time you visit.

Painted some items with my daughter...items were expensive for what they were and the assistant gave little advice. Not sure we would go again.

Having read the reviews we thought it would be a great activity to do. How wrong we were!

The worst bit was how unwelcoming it was, the atmosphere was awkward and uncomfortable. It was like having people in their workshop is a hinderance somehow. There was no warm welcome no enthusiasm and no thank you for coming please come again. The customer service was appalling.

They didn't offer us a drink or anything. Fair enough you pay for drinks but even just to tell us where drinks and snacks are located and how much they cost, in case we wanted to buy drinks etc. Just felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable.

There was a young girl working there and the owner. We had the same unwelcoming approach by both.

We did not feel welcome at all. We were not told what to do, how to paint, where the paints were, how to apply them, given creative ideas etc. We aren't potters or artists, how are we meant to know? The whole point of going was to be given some ideas and help.

The staff made minimal effort to help us and interact with us. We had to approach them several times to ask questions. We are grown up enough to ask questions but really we shouldn't have had to ask as many times as we did. All the questions we asked were very basic, where is the paint, how do you use it, knowing wether to let it dry or not, if we have to wash our tools or not, how to apply art on top. The customer shouldn't have to ask so many questions and feel so uncomfortable.

We felt as if we were disturbing them in all honesty. Both staff members were busy doing their own pottery and we felt as if we were bad for disturbing them creating their crafts. You're either working or creating your own art. If I'm at work my full attention is on my customers not doing a bit of knitting on the side!

We spent almost £50 and that was painting some of the cheaper items and we may as well have thrown the money down the drain. The pottery we painted turned out okay but only just okay. It's very basic because we were not instructed properly and given ideas and support to make something really nice. We actually were that fed up and bored we just ended up saying "that'll do". Because we didn't even care by that point. We just wanted to get out and go home. Total waste of time money and effort. Wish we hadn't gone.

I am so shocked at the good reviews on here, it really is absolutely nothing like what the reviews suggest.

One can only assume the reviews are written by family and friends of the owner.

Would not recommend. Will not be returning.

In summary, overpriced and unwelcoming.

This isn’t really geared for young children who will take a few minutes to splat paint all over a very expensive piece of pottery. I came out over £40 lighter for two pieces of pottery and it took 50 minutes after I dragged it out as long as I could!!! I was expecting it to be around £15-20. Cheaper pottery should be offered to very young children as part of a deal perhaps rather than them perusing a very expensive selection of pottery. We would have fared better with “choose between a £5 cat or dog” . Younger children also don’t understand that colours develop once fired and they wanted bright colours to paint with.

I’m sure older and richer people would enjoy but don’t waste your money if you have little ones.

Fired 4 U is a fantastic place to visit, with our without children, for arty fun. Of course, Fired 4 U *is* Jane, who is always welcoming and full of good ideas to help you on your way. Jane's very enthusiastic, creative and inspiring _ the perfect person to run a business like this. I've always had a great time at the adult evenings, children's parties and drop-in sessions _ and have some great creations at home to show for it. It's one of my children's favourite places to go for an outing! Drop in - you won't be disappointed.

We had an amazing time making and painting our new creations at fired4u! We're so happy with how they turned out and the support and assistance we got in creating our bowls was excellent. Really great set up, lots of help, amazing selection of stencils/stamps and paints and lovely staff. We'll definitely be back again, thank you again for a great experience!

I visited fired 4 U with my 11 and 6 yr old, they picked a couple of pieces to paint and it started off well. Unfortunately, after showing us where the paint tools are, the assistant disappeared and we were left to paint on our own. Needless to say our painting did n t turn out very well as we had no idea how to use most of the available tools. The lady there was very unapproachable, and we felt uncomfortable. When we had finished I was surprised at the cost of it, a very expensive way to spend a few hours. We won’t be going again.
