Plenty of choice for the beer lover
Feb 2020
Friendly pub with a great selection of beers and a great selection of styles of beer. A compact little pub and understandably very popular busy and that adds to the atmosphere. Nice and unfussy and pleasant staff and clientele.

Awesome micro in the middle of Preston. Great choice of beer at a great price. Well worth a visit if you’re in town.

Visited here on Friday 17th Jan 2020 for the first time with my partner and friends. Expected it to be quiet considering the time of year. How wrong was I! The place was buzzing! Lovely atmosphere. Large real ale selection ( great for my hubby ) and plenty of craft beers in the fridge ! Also a good selection of lagers and Belgian beers. I was unsure of what to have, the lovely lady behind the bar took the time to have a chat with me and allowed me to sample a few different drinks. Settled with a strawberry beer!

We had a lovely night in here. No music or TVs allowed us to have a good catch up.
The land lord & land lady were a lovely couple couldn't be friendlier .

Will definitely be recommending to friends and we will be returning next time we get a baby sitter 😀

Very Nice Micropub

Its a smart yet unpretentious micropub right in the city centre with a great, reasonably priced real ale selection.

Visited 10th September as part of a day out in the town visiting several pubs, lovely place, several real ciders on offer and a great range of beers, something for everyone's taste. Even went back in the evening before our train home, best pub of the day, plus there is a mini table football game much to my partners amusement, he beat me 9 nil.

Great city centre micro pub
Jul 2019 • Couples
Have visited the Guild Ale House on many occasions and never been disappointed with the choice of beers on offer.
There’s something for everyone from blonde and citrus ales to stouts and dark ales. There’s always a good selection of bottled craft ales and cider and wine if that’s what takes your fancy.
A bonus from my point of view is that there’s no TV or music (except when they have live acts performing) making it a great place to meet friends and chat. Upstairs there’s additional seating for an even more relaxed experience.

CAMRA AWARD for a good reason!

Great place to meet up with old friends, or pop in and chat to new ones! No blaring TV or canned music makes this the perfect place in Preston town centre to grab a locally brewed cask ale, or continental lager or cider. The owner, Gary, makes everyone feel welcome to his bar. It's a lovely atmosphere and the upstairs lounge is quiet with huge soft leather armchairs reminiscent of an old fashioned gentleman's club. Situated just a 5 minute walk from the bus station and St Georges Shopping Centre, just a 1 minute walk to the Guildhall, it's directly opposite the new market where they also opened their new bar The Orchard; smaller but carrying the same cask ales. I love this micro-pub!!!

Really good
Nov 2018 • Couples
The choice of ales and lagers is forever changing and always great. Yeah the beardy crowd can sometimes be a bit off-putting but if you can get a seat upstairs where it's nice and quiet then I can think of no better place in town to spend a few hours in good company.
