    Capybara Experience
Spent the afternoon at Wild Discovery and did the Capybara encounter. Wild Discovery itself was great, lots of different animals and talks/feeding times etc. It’s only small but we were looking around for a good 2 hours before our encounter. Capybara encounter itself was fab, 30 minutes with the animals, got to feed them and stroke them whilst learning lots from one of the keepers, Georgia (I think, she had purple hair!), who we also saw doing the otter and reindeer talks and is clearly very passionate about the animals which was great. During the encounters the capybara’s are free to come and go as they please, they are not made to participate at all and it felt very relaxed and enjoyable. A great experience!

    Enjoyed the Capybara experience
Although a small zoo, it has a lot in a small space. The zoo is well looked after and so too are the animals in their care. We visited because we had bought a Capybara experience for my son who absolutely loves them. The experience didn’t disappoint, he was able to get hands on with them and Curly took a liking to him which he was made up with. The keeper was informative throughout, my son could have spent a lot longer than the half an hour. Would recommend this experience and the zoo.

    Capybara Experience
Had a wonderful time at Wild Discovery! The zoo is small, but there are plenty of animals to see. The talks are full of facts and everyone is really friendly and helpful. The main reason we visited was for the Capybara experience and it was amazing. Curly, Larry and Mo are the cutest guys ever! Well worth the money and I’d happily come back again.

    Capybara experience
We went for the capybara experience, and although it's only half an hour it felt like longer. We got to have time with three of the capybaras who were all very friendly! Would recommend it if you love capybaras worth every penny. The individual giving the talk was friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable!

A Great Time And Definitely Worth A Visit
What A Fantastic Place To Visit Especially If You Have Children, Definitely Highly Recommended. The Staff Have Talks And You Get The Opportunity To Feed Certain Animals At Reasonable Prices. We Visited Twice And On Our Last Day My Partner Fed The Two Binturong's And I The Artic Foxe's ( Pre Booked ), What An Experience We Had. The Staff Are Friendly And Will Answer Your Questions, I Would Especially Like To Thank The Two Staff Members Who Was With Us ( Binturong's & Artic Foxe's ) On The 09/07/23. A Very Big Thank You.

    Capybara encounter
We visited this zoo mainly to do the capybara encounter. My little boy really enjoyed it, he loved getting up close with them. The guide was great, very knowledgeable during the experience. Included in the ticket was the rest of the zoo so we had a little walk round, it’s only small but we seen lots of animals. My little boy also went on the on-site park, he loved the zip line, then had a game of crazy golf which is also on site

Capybara encounter for our 9 year old.
Visited the Wild Discovery zoo at Ribby Hall Village yesterday. It was fantastic. For a small zoo there's plenty to see and lots of information to take in. The zoo itself is clean, well maintained and the animals look well cared for. However, our main reason for visiting was because we had booked a Capybara encounter for our son for his birthday. He's absolutely obsessed with them so this was a dream come true. He was booked in for 11.30 and greeted by a lovely lady who took the participants (max 4) over to the Capybara enclosure. We were allowed to stand a short distance away just outside the enclosure to take pictures and videos. The lady asked my son to sit down on some benches along with the other 3 participants and she shook the bucket of veggies and the Capybaras came over quickly. They are so cute and very friendly. They love to be fed and stroked, even rolling over to have their belly tickled! 😅. The lady was telling the group lots of information about the Capybaras and she answered questions too. My son had a fantastic time and wants to do it again soon. Its worth every penny!

    Fantastic staff and zoo
A great addition to our holiday at Ribby Hall. We thought the zoo was excellent. A very varied range of animals and lots of talks and opportunities to really see the animals as they were being fed. Without a doubt the best element was the staff who were all very pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. Especially enjoyed the bird talks with Sam. Really good value for money and the come back again offer was great as we got a bit tired so couldn’t stay for the last talk.

Short visit but so worth it
Lovely afternoon out at Ribby Hall with two of our grandchildren. Opportunity to see lots of different animals and then a spot of lunch at Papa Johns Pizza. Very reasonably priced and enjoyable. Apparently Tuesdays is a bigger treat with two for one pizzas, great if you have a family.

    Capybaras. Did not disappoint.
Absolutely amazing. My boys were over the moon they got to feed and stroke the very tame capybaras and are still talking about it now. Our guide was lovely. Very engaging and we loved every minute of it. We were able to come and go from the zoo as well and all staff were chatty. Helpfull and so friendly. Would 100% go back.

Safety measures have been followed with clear signage due to the current pandemic. Plenty of space indoor and out to adhere to social distancing and plenty of hand washing / hand sanitizer stations.
Lots of different animals whom are all friendly, especially the walk through bat house! Nice to see they are helping with conservation of nearly extinct animals like the Scottish Wild Cat. The annual pass itself is an absolute bargain, the cost of entry for one is £7.50 which again is very very reasonable especially as children under three are free but then to be told that if you buy and annual pass you get that daily rate that you have paid knock off the total was a great surprise! Lovely place to take children on a day out, even a miserable day , will be a frequent visitor that’s for sure.

Wild Discovery is located within a holiday park - not what I was expecting! They have a fairly small selection of animals but this is reflected in the low entrance cost. Ok if you are only looking for something to fill an hour.

We visited Wild Discovery for the capybara feeding experience. This was excellent. G do or half an hour I got to feed and pet Larry, Curly and Mo in the presence of their keeper who told me more about them and answered any questions I had. The time flew by and it’s certainly something I will remember for a very long time. Loved every minute of it. They offer other animal experiences too and would recommend visiting to do one of the experiences.

Booked last minute as seemed to be the only family place open to visit on Christmas Eve afternoon 2021 and a sensible price. We booked 4 adults for the zoo and a 10 year old for the feeding experience. The zoo was perfect for an afternoon outing - perfect size for a winter afternoon. The animals were interesting and visible, the meet and greet the animals nice. The feeding experience for our grandaughter was excellent - very personable and informative and she was able to stroke the animals with the keeper.

Visited wild discovery as part of our trip to Blackpool with my wife and two kids aged 6 & 8.
A nice little place to visit which wasn't too busy and was clean and tidy.
This is not a big place and is something that will take a couple of hours if you take in some of the presentations/shows.

The staff here are what made it, so friendly and knowledgeable even stopping to talk to the kids when they were looking at animals.
The talk Gary gave on the birds was really good and other presentations were enjoyable.

Overall we enjoyed our visit, the price was about right £25 for a family of 4, I wouldn't have wanted to pay much more and would also say it was a little tricky to find located on a sort of caravan park place we actually drove past it and had to come back.

Worth a visit if you're passing or in the area and have young kids.

We stayed on site so this is perfect. My 5 year old daughter loves animals and this was right up her street. My little one liked going to see the wallaby’s and the deers which are visible for people to see on Ribby Hall grounds.

It’s very small but for the price it’s amazing for the experience. There are discounted rates for people with disabilities which is good and a free second visit for all visitors which is perfect.

Although the site is small it’s very interactive. Visitors get to feed the farm animals, attend talks which my daughter loved and plenty of hand washing facilities.

There are quite a lot of animals at the location considering it’s a small site. I believe this is actually more advantageous as you get to see the animals very close up.

I think it’s nice they provide encounters but my little one was too young as she would have loved that so when she’s old enough, will definitely do that.

I would highly recommend as it’s informative, staff are friendly and you get to see the animals close up. It’s also great value as you can enter the zoo/farm twice but it also allows you access to the playgrounds around Ribby Hall.

Too pricey for the length of time spent in there (took approximately 20 minutes to get around the zoo) especially when you have already paid a lot to stay at the village for Christmas with the children. Visiting the animals should be included within the price . The children wanted to see and feed the reindeers but there is no way of feeding the reindeers unless you pay for full entry to the zoo.

Lovely little zoo, perfect mini day out as we are local to the area so it was a nice place to spend an hour. We would have spent longer if our child was a little older, i can imagine if you have bigger kids they would enjoy the zoo keeper talks and animal shows e.g. Birds of prey. Some moaning from others about the price but lets face it any sort of trip is going to cost you, we thought it was a really fair price for adults and especially with under 2's being free. Great range of animals but obviously not as big as other zoos so you wont see elephants and giraffes etc, very much smaller animals but unusual ones at that! It's a spotlessly clean site and animals appear to be kept in excellent conditions, staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Thanks for an enjoyable time!

Great little experience nice selection of animals.
Need to advertise/push the animal feed as we aren’t asked if we wanted any but luckily saw it before we entered so able to buy some.
Well organised and compact so easy for kids to negotiate their way without getting bored.
Probably only an hour or so needed to do it all including watching a show
Would benefit from a cafe as the kids were hungry so had to leave to find food.
the gift shop is expensive, having to leave via shop is an unwelcome marketing ploy.

I live in the area and didn't know this place existed until the day we visited. At a third of the price of Blackpool Zoo, I thought it was worth a look. We were very impressed! Although it's a small zoo with mainly smaller animals, the variety was impressive, they had many unique animals I had never seen anywhere else, and some I had never even heard of. Our 2 year old loved it, it was her first zoo experience and it kept her attention. Our 13 year old also loved it! It took about 45 minutes to walk around and see everything, but after an ice cream break, a second look at a few favourites and attending one of the talks, a couple of hours had passed which was just enough for a 2 year old and reasonable for the money.

Small but lovely zoo. Really enjoyed our time here. We bought the animal feed and got hands on with the reindeer, sheep and deers.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching the baby otters nest building and one of the tortoises training for the Olympics doing laps of his pen. Waited patiently for the crocodile to surface which was unreal, truely spectacular and loved the fact that there was three little ducks following us round like our very own tour guide. The staff there were very friendly and informative
Would definately recommend a visit.
