The pool temperature is too low and the facilities are majorly aged, the wallpaper was peeling off at the sides with dead dead spiders hanging from the walls, if they can’t clean dirt on the floor and dead spiders, how well are they protecting against COVID-19? The changing rooms are like a school PE class, nothing glam and very “gym” style. The pool is just under 9 metres in length so you can’t get a good swim in them and you can’t relax in the pool either as it’s purely swimming lanes. We had a spa treatment, the treatment itself was very good and is the only thing deserving of a rating, but a 5/5 treatment doesn’t disguise a 0/5 everything else. The whole centre was cold with blotchy walls and dirty floors, to top it off as we were leaving they made us wait as they figured out why there system was messing up our gift card payment, that has already been purchased, authorised, booked and confirmed online. Horrible end to the day. The staff were talking about the issue in earshot of everyone saying things like, I’m not sure why there isn’t payment, when we’d clearly paid. Very embarrassing, will happily never return.

Very average spa, as other reviews say, it’s definately more a leisure centre. The pool was freezing, not many places to sit around it and relax. The spa treatments we had were good, strange how you wait in the corridor though. The toilets were very tired and unclean, we were surprised with it being a spa. The cafe was really good. We were told to pre order food which we thought was strange. When we got to the cafe for lunch thinking it’d be busy and we’d need to pre order, it was really quiet! Yummy food.

This is definitely NOT a spa venue and certainly not a premium day!! it’s a gym and fitness club! My daughter and I purchased this “relaxing spa day” to celebrate the life of late my husband and her dad. Relaxing it certainly wasn’t! We arrived to a not very welcoming lady and proceeded to change into our swimwear to go to sit by the pool. There was a water aerobic class in progress to extremely loud disco music. The only place to sit were sun beds placed against the walls around the pool. It was so loud we decided to go to the Relaxation Room. Well again very disappointing. A small room with 6 beds with looked like pretty disgusting, all the beds someone had been to bed in them all night.... not at all something you would choose to relax on. With nowhere else to sit we decided to have lunch which was quite nice. Our treatments had been booked for the afternoon and thank goodness were the only redeeming feature of this very disappointing whole day. I have been to many spa days at several venues which have all been fantastic peaceful days. This Bannatyne Spa day should never be offered as a relaxing day and is one I would never return to or could recommend! Very disappointed.

Limited spa facilities and public pool. Treatments are good. Steam room and sauna are fantastic. Pool is fine.

My friend and I had a voucher for a spa day to include 3 treatments. I was al little concerned having read some of the reviews, even though I had been here before. We had a lovely day. The treatments were excellent and we had a very nice lunch. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful ands our treatments were very good. There are things I would say need improving. The pool area is ok, but could be better. It’s not that well lit and it’s true that the loungers either have to be back to back or facing each other, making any conversation difficult, but that’s because there isn’t enough room around the pool. This could be improved by taking some of the space in the cafe are that’s given over to sofas and making it a better relaxation area around the pool. However, that would mean some considerable building alterations! The toilets and showers in the ladies changing rooms are tired looking and need updating. They definitely need painting at the very least. The lockers could do with a clean - the floors are a bit grubby. We had a very pleasant day, despite theses minor niggles.
