- Teaandcake17104 contributionsPantomime delightBeauty and the Beast is a fantastic pantomime. Brilliant performances from everyone. I was a helper on a primary school visit this morning and thoroughly enjoyed the show plus it was such a pleasure to see the children joining in and having such a lovely time. The care and attention from The Core staff to ensure children with additional needs were catered for was excellent. Well done to everyone involved, it has certainly got my Christmas off to a great start.Visited December 2022Written December 15, 2022
- Patty V64 contributionsLovely small theatre, good value & great Panto.Went with my family & young (nearly 2 year old) grandson to see the Beauty & The Beast Pantomime on their last performance & was really impressed. Not knowing how our little one would cope in a confined space & not wanting to disturb other audience members, we deliberately got the back seats so we could nip out if necessary, however he was absolutely gripped throughout. Don't know anything about the theatre company who put on the show, but the singing, dancing & costumes etc were all excellent. If I have any criticism at all, it would be it did seem overly loud, particularly for young ears, but it's really only a slight grumble. I've always liked the Core Theatre, particularly as it's small, so even on the back row there's a good view & it didn't disappoint. Also nice to be offered a booster seat for a young child. They seem to have really increased the range of shows on offer too, so definitely going to keep an eye out for further productions.Visited January 2023Written January 16, 2023

I visited the Solihull Core Library to try the food served at the café rather than watch a theatre production. The food at the cafe is respectable. The place is well kept and the service is fine. I ordered a jacket potato with beans and it met my expectations, it was a generous portion of potato and well-cooked baked beans, the salad wasn’t need but was fine - deserving a rating of 8/10. My buddy ordered a cheese toastie, which earned a decent 7/10, the coleslaw was a bonus. Thanks to the staff at Solihull Library café, looking forward to my next visit.

Visit the Core theatre regularly and have never been disappointed with any of the productions. I am always very impressed with the excellent customer service at the theatre booking office. The staff are always friendly, courteous and helpful. My husband is registered disabled and the theatre staff are always there to assist. It is a little gem of a theatre!

Visited the Core theatre cafe for morning breakfast roll and coffee today after 6 months of covid closure.
Excellent safety procedures in place with social distancing and track and trace in operation. Staff were welcoming and efficient and we were glad to return to such a safe environment
Well done all.

We visited 'The Core' to see the exhibition 'Solihull then and now' which was on the first floor. The exhibition wasn't overly big but it was interesting to see how Solihull has changed over the years which the vast majority of it hasn't been for the good. It would have been good to see more pictures of the changes but if you like seeing some history it is a good exhibition. There was a short video which someone took while driving round the old streets of Solihull which is like modern day dash cam video which was very interesting and made you wonder how they could allow the destruction of the buildings.
It is easy to get into the library/theatre, there wasn't any barriers which I was expecting. There is a cafe inside as well which didn't try but was reasonably busy as there was a show starting not long after we got there. It is just next to Touchwood by the Cineworld end and just at the top of the escalator for the car park.

Me and my friend are booked to see dirty dancing at your theatre and wandered if you were doing the pie and chips before the show that we were told about the last time we were there.
