About
No golfing ability? No problem! Topgolf is a game that anyone can play (and win). Score points by hitting micro-chipped golf balls at giant dartboard-like targets on an outfield. The closer you get your ball to the centre or ‘bullseye’ and the further the distance, the more points earned. The fun and games don’t stop there; you can even indulge in delicious food and drinks brought to you while you play. What could be better?

    Matt's a genius!!
Booked 30 minute session with Matt and was amazed how well I improved! Matt made several tweaks to setup, hands/grip & swing and within 15 minutes, I was hitting the ball much straighter & further. As a beginner, this is a great way to take my golf up a level (or 3!) and to get out & practise then book a round. Or 4!😂

Not bad but Glasgow far better
We went here when down in London for NFL after we loved the Glasgow site. This place pretty poor by comparison. Badly needs investment and the concept is quite weak with regards virtual reality golf. Still we had a fun time and food and drink were good.

    Fantastic Golf tuition.
Had a golf lesson with the resisdent pre Matt Cousins and it was without dobt the best golf tuition I have ever had. In a half hour session Matt managed to successfuly change my grip, improve my swing and get me hitting the ball beter than any time since I have been playing the game - I am in my 60's. Could not recommend Matt and the whole Tp Golf setup more. I great place for anyone interested in the sport.

    Well worth a try.
Great fun, would recommend. Staff friendly and the golf centre itself is well organised. We ordered food/drinks on the QR code and this is brought to the table. Tasted delicious too be fair. Plenty of free parking. Only gripe, you have to become a 'member' which is another couple of quid per player. Nice little rip off their guys. Take this away and the place is spot on.

    Fantastic Experiance
I booked a joint golf lesson for me and my son on Friday afternoon with Matt and i must say it was a very enjoyable experience. Matt was such a pleasure to spend time with. He has a lovely laid back personality and his teaching methods were exactly the same. My son has only just taken up the game and was a little nervous at first but Matt immediately took those nerves away and by the end of the first session my son was regularly getting the ball away off the tee. Matts knowledge of the game was amazing as was all his general knowledge and the only disappointment for both me and my son was that the lesson had to end. We are planning to book weekly sessions with Matt for the foreseeable future and would recommend his coaching to anyone who loves golf or is considering starting up the game.

It’s fun when your arrive and play. Staff are very nice and a credit to TopGolf, The issue is just simply two things 1/The wait time - over three hours on a Saturday night does seem excessive. I think anything within an hour people would tolerate or perhaps a booking system in place would make it far easier for people to play. 2/The food - not good at all. I’d like to return but I think improvements need to be made first.

    Great time with the kids
Came back here with the family after enjoying Top golf when I was younger. We just had a great time, only had to wait for 15 mins for a bay and it was buy one get one free so an added bonus. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We also played the adventure golf which we enjoyed.

Upon arriving, the place was heaving both inside and outside. To book a bay I was told I was 79 in the queue and the person who was number 1 had been waiting 2.5 hours. Surely during the current pandemic, allowing people to book a slot makes more sense then ever! On top of this, if number 1 had been waiting 2.5 hours that means clearly no one had left! Another suggestion would be to restrict the number of games played or the length of gamea so that EVERYONE can have a chance! It's disappointing that you turn up regardless of what time and seems always impossible to play even a single game. In all honesty, the queue and crowd was larger then you'd see for even the clubs in Watford town centre with people hanging around all in the carpark, on the grass verges on either sides, outside on the seating area. Why have "covid rules" for booking if clearly these aren't being observed anywhere on the premises?!

The only reason this has received 2 stars is because after a 5 and half hour wait (that would have been longer had I not made a fuss at the desk that was overheard by the Duty Manager) it was good fun.
We arrived at 13:15 and were position 21, this didn`t concern us too much as my step son had been 2 weeks before and waited 2 hours when there were 80 people in front of him. We decided to have something to eat and drink but after we had waited 2 hours, we really hadn`t moved much in the queue. We queried the wait times several times before I finally got fed up and went to the desk after waiting 5 and half hours for a bay.
I was told we were now position 2 for an upper bay but as we had been at position 3 for almost an hour I was still expecting another hour wait. I wasn`t happy with that and the guy on the desk told me that as we had waited so long he could get us on a ground floor bay straight away. So we went with that, after some after making some adjustments on the system he came back and said we were position 4. Wait, What?? As I was querying this with him, my step son came over with his text message saying we were position 6! Just as I was just getting really frustrated with the whole thing, the Duty Manager, Sara, arrived and arranged for a bay to be cleaned immediately for us. Thank you Sara. We actually got our bay at 18:45.
The reason for the wait? If you pay £40 to book, you then take priority over anyone that has walked in, regardless of how long they have been waiting. But, if you decide to book it will cost you a non refundable booking fee and you still have to pay membership and game fees on top of that. The booking/queueing system is appalling and seriously needs addressing. I understand the reason for a booking
fee during busier periods but this should be deducted from the cost of your games on arrival.

Blue card can only be used on the person who has it. Not even their own child could benefit from discount. Charging a family of 3 more than the zoo is ridiculous The game kept going wrong, didn’t get enough balls for the games we paid for and staff basically said tough. Well after paying that’s disgusting amount I expected enough balls for the games to be played, crisps from the bar taking 20 minutes to arrive. Fully ripped off. Was cheaper and more fun to go to Alton towers. No staff care. Took our money and made us wait for over 3 hours. Once we were locked in that was it. Tough tough basically. Two children spending the day waiting for a game at the driving range. We travelled over an hour to get to u and o will not be doing that again. So ripped of parents, children who had a rubbish day except for less than 2 hours of golf after 3 hours of waiting. Expensive, badly managed, badly planned, badly run, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Just echoing the comments previously. To avoid waiting for a bay you can pay a £35 fee to book an actual time slot in advance. So having booked two weeks in advance what they don't tell you is that fee is not a deposit, not an upfront payment. It's just a payment to get a slot which is non refundable. Disgrace. The website also sends you in circles if you want to book for more than 6 people. It recommends a 'bundle' at which point a very nice person contacts you to sell you everything under the sun. I know lock down was bad for some but this is ridiculous. When you get in it's not much better, at one point i thought to breath as going to cost me a pound a minute. Think Mr Fidler from Carry on Camping...

on the plus side the game , when we got going was fun and food was decent. Albeit quite pricey but i imagine you guessed that by now.

We came to Top Golf last month as a treat for our children. The online booking was deceiving and we eneded up paying £25 to book the bay not realising that we would then have to pay extra to play the game of golf which for just my children to have a bit of fun was an extortionate amount and we still ended up waiting ages for the bay reguardless.
The checking in system is overly comlicated and the staff not helpful. After talking to the manager on site at Top Golf on the day I was told to contact Senel Hazim according to the business card I was given.

senel.hazim@topgolf.com 07384 896825

We were told we could get a refund for the booking fee yet we have had no reply AT ALL after ringing and emiling a number of times. We are just being ignored.

DO NOT GO HERE if you want vaule for money for staff that actually are helful.

Booking / Queuing shambles. Website suggests that most people turn up and play on the day. The pre-booking costs a non-refundable £40 so I’m sure this is what most people do. What it doesn’t tell you is that you’ll have a 3 hour wait when they hope you’ll empty your pockets somewhere between the bar, the restaurant, the shop and a small putting green. No reason why they couldn’t take online bookings so this is just showing customers contempt and trying to shake them down.

Absolute joke of a queuing system. Great game but lack of booking functionality (unless you part with £30 on top of games for fast track) makes it unsuitable for kids. Have been a member since 2004 and remember when the system started in 2015 but it is now so bad I go rarely. To turn up on 2 occasions recently to have to wait for 2 hrs (after queuing for half an hour already) across 4 different queues is farcical. Customer service not sympathetic and you’re expected to understand what 46th in the queue means in terms of waiting time (even they don’t know really).
Advice to operations is sort an online booking system out that doesn’t rip you off so that you don’t waste hours of your precious life to play a simple game. The cynic in me believes the current set-up is in place to make you spend more money with zero thought given to customer experience. #absolutejoke #fiercelyfurious

Spend money on a covered walkway outside to shelter from rain or sun!! Think of people's experience outside your venue trying to get in as queues are so long each time we come. It took 1hr 10 mins from being at the back of a smallish queue to getting to the allocated bay. In that time absolutely no cover whatsoever in the pouring rain apart from two gazebos once you are lucky enough to finally get near the front of the queue. Missed the buy one get one free offer which ended 11am as even though we arrived with loads of time spare, it was so painfully slow getting in then registering we missed the offer. Once finally inside everything ran smoothly.

I dont normally write reviews but I need to highlight a person at Topgolf Watford. About a week ago a few colleagues and I decided to have an evening out at Topgolf Watford where we were met by a lovely staff member called Louise. Louise was very patient, informative and very professional towards us throughout our evening. She went above and beyond making sure that we not only enjoyed ourselves but helped those of us who played for the first time, navigate how to play with accuracy and not be concerned if we never played before. This young lady deserves a promotion and to be recognised for her fantastic customer service skills. We were all truly impressed so much so that we are looking forward to the next evening there very soon. If Topgolf are training their staff to be anything like Louise, then other similar companies like Topgolf need to take note that they will win your business just based on the great experience the public in general will have. Remember folks, ask for Louise...

Unbelievably frustrating. Unless you book and pay the fast track fee of £35 for nothing apart from jumping the queue, you have to wait a mind numbingly long time. Not really worth it and there could be a far better way of booking time slots.
Be prepared to wait a long long time
