We had our Civil Ceremony here last August, which had been postponed from January 2021 for obvious reasons. Friendly helpful staff throughout the whole process. We had the larger of the two rooms because of social distancing requirements, and we were allowed to provide our own music. Limited parking onsite but more parking in the B&Q carpark behind the building, although there is a limit of two hours free parking here. Small gardens to the front of the building giving a good photographic opportunity after the ceremony.

My son and his partner married at The Manor Gatehouse on 10 June 2023. The staff went above and beyond for the happy couple. They were so accommodating and friendly. We were there for quite a long time and did not feel at all rushed. The gardens are beautiful for photos. A wonderful experience.

Located just feet away from a very busy retail park, the historic Manor Gatehouse is a hidden gem. The Manor was originally built in the 1540's for King Henry VIII's personal use. Anne of Cleves lived there for four years, after it was given to her as part of her divorce settlement. Queen Elizabeth I retained the use of the Manor House and stayed there on two separate occasions. Sadly only the Gatehouse of the Manor remains today, but it is a delightful building, with a lovely walled garden to the front, perfect for picture postcard images. Although the site is just used for wedding ceremonies now, its worth taking a look, if not in use you can view rooms, and the Anne of Cleves room in particular retains the building's original charm, however tall visitors should beware of low beams.

Our daughter got married here in 2016. The day was great the ceremony staff attentive and professional, they a made the service run smoothly. Would fully recommend as a beautiful venue. We used the small room.
HOWEVER the run up was far from smooth. Registering for the wedding my daughter had many issues. She was told about short staffing which resulted in her being told to register in Maidstone... (Time off of work, additional travel expenses) Manor Gatehouse is ten minutes walk from where we live. My daughter was given too much personal information about the absent staff members personal life, and was made to feel she was an inconvenience. How would it have been if somebody was attempting to register a death? My daughter was not alone with her feelings, she has a friend who was attempting the same thing at the same time, she also struggled to book in and was made to feel like an inconvenience. (Her friend was turned off in fact) If you can get through this part you will not be disappointed with the day.

Historic building. Great for small weddings or civil partnership. Parking in the retail car park behind. Small well kept gardens.
