A very wild woods with little else, but as these woods are of special scientific Interest, with many rare insects present, and back onto Darenth Country Park making access easy, they are well worth visiting to see a little more nature during your visit to the park. Although the wood are open to the public 24/7, the nearest car park is located inside the park, which does close early in winter, so ensure you check the park's closing times shown on entry before talking a long walk.

So much history here, look it up if you have time to, beautiful walks, can go through the woods or visit the old graveyards and monument, maybe ride your bike up to the artwork near the top of the hill with the most beautiful old tree next to it, the views are amazing, I enjoy imagining what it would have looked like in the past :)

Not well signposted or advertised which makes it a hidden gem. It's hilly, boggy when wet and has a byway running through it (don't get angry at road legal dirt bikes, they have as much right there as you). Local Scouts have a permanent camp site, it's a protected nature reserve and there is a car park. Well worth a visit and quite stunning when you come out of the woods into the clearings. A fair bit of tree felling taking place at the moment, which seems a shame and I'm not sure why.
