Best place for beer
Mar 2020 • Couples
This is our favourite place to drink in Maidstone - the beer is unbeatable, staff are always really friendly and helpful, and it's always a nice atmosphere.

Fantasy fun quiz
Jan 2020 • Friends
Why did we not know about this place? We were invited to the quiz night and boom! What an experience. The quizmasters must be some kind of local legends although I’ve never seen them on the TV, they ought to be. What fun! And only a quid each to enter. Beer was good too but the quiz blew me away.

Friendly Place
Oct 2019 • Couples
This real ale pub is located on a small industrial estate. We found it a little difficult to locate but it was worth the effort. It is approached via a steep set of stairs and as its name suggests is in the cellar.
They are very proud of their beer selection but also have a small wine selection. The service and atmosphere was very friendly. My partner enjoyed his beer and I enjoyed my wine.

Something Different
Aug 2019
This cellar based pub is just outside the town centre but is very different from what you'd find elsewhere in the town.

They offer a huge variety of ales and ciders, many of which are locally brewed. The menu boards are informative, as are the staff who work there. The cellar itself has high raised tables and a small nook with sofas and board games.

They don't serve food, but do have a good selection of pub snacks such as pickled eggs and crisps.

Great pub
Apr 2019 • Family
Quaint little pub slightly out of Maidstone town centre (5 min walk)- my mum and dad took me here for my 18th birthday- lovely setting with an authentic vibe and good atmosphere. I liked the touch of the board games to keep families and groups of friends entertained! Definitely a hidden gem!

Worth checking out
Mar 2019 • Friends
Great selection of ales are available from cask and keg. You should definitely be able to find something you like, from session ales to stronger IPA's, Stout and Porters.

Good range of crisps and snacks on offer.

If you like real beer you won't be disappointed.

Maidstone's only micropub to close at the end of March?
Feb 2019 • Friends
Oh dear, I spoke too soon then. I discovered that the Cellars Alehouse is about to close at the end of March. I was in Broadstairs a couple of weeks ago and they can now boast FIVE micropubs but it seems we are about to lose our one. It was always going to be difficult in such a large, underground, echoey and out-of-the-way establishment. Perhaps someone will take it over? I'll update you all once I've had the chance to check things out.

A real hit
Mar 2019 • Friends
This is an epic find. Great selection of beers, ciders and stout. Perfect for catching up with mates over a beer. So much to choose from and the staff know what to recommend. Good atmosphere in there. I really like the fact there’s no phone signal in there. Look forward to going back with another group of mates

Great micro Pub - Great Beer/Cider
Jan 2019 • Friends
lovely hidden gem, great beer and cider selection - constant winner of Camra awards, always a selection of 5-6 Cask , 3-4 keg beers and 10 ciders. Wide selection of craft gin and also decent aged Whisky all at £3-50. No music or fruit machines, but good old fashioned board games if you need to do anything but have a good conversation
