Great cinema, refreshment prices are a bit steep
Aug 2020 • Friends
Let me start by saying I’ve got an unlimited card, I’ve had it for about 13 years and it’s brilliant, I use it all the time.

Seeing as I’ve had it for over a year, I’ve got a black card, allowing me 25% off food and drinks bought on site at any Cineworld. Even after the 25% off, it’s still very expensive to buy some average popcorn and a soft drink which you can get from any supermarket, restaurant etc.

I’m certain that if they halved their prices, they’d sell more than twice as much, making them more profit than now! How on earth anyone can warrant paying the full (roughly) £10 on a large popcorn and drink, is beyond me.

But, that said, this is my favourite cinema with polite and helpful staff. The screens are fine, with adequate and comfortable seating.

Poor Customer Service
Jul 2020
We're both Unlimited card holders and went to see the Jumanji film on their X-screen (the one that displays on the main screen and side walls) on 31/7/2020.
A few minutes into the film the right hand display packed up. The main screen and left hand wall continued to work. After the performance, we spoke to several employees, the last one went off to speak to a manager. After a few minutes it was clear she wasn't coming back so we left. We still don't know why it wasn't working, but we won't be wasting money on the x-screen again. £6 wasted and we're currently reviewing our unlimited membership. Fortunately, the film was very poor so it wasn't much of a loss.

Failure to Safeguard children or explain why.
Feb 2020 • Family
I took my 3 and 4 year-old for their first ever trip to the cinema. Technical issue with movie (these things happen) and while we were waiting (over an hour) they played a string of trailers featuring adult content. (Gunfights etc.) We left and came back when these had finished. We watched 20 minutes of the movie and left to catch the train home.

Because there was no time to look for the manager, I emailed customer services when I got home. They sent a few pre-prepared irrelevant responses that didn't acknowledge the fact that children were exposed to adult content and why they failed to safeguard them on this occasion. When I raised this again, I received another 'drop-down' response to say they considered the matter closed and wouldn't be responding to any further emails.

If you're looking for a cinema to visit with children, I'd avoid Cineworld.

Underwater... 💦
Feb 2020 • Friends
So my mum and I come to this cinema pretty much on a weekly basis.
I've held an unlimited card for about ten years now and we feel like this place is a second home almost.
We see a mixture of genres and find most screens are pretty decent. There are a few that the seats are noticeably smaller and less leg room.
Popcorn or sweets are often acquired and with our discount from our unlimited cards it seems rude not to.
Most staff friendly and helpful.
Also great that we can get our parking money back each time.

A good view and great sound
Dec 2019 • Couples
This is a good cinema with a large number of screens. The sound is excellent although sometimes muffled sounds can be heard from adjacent screens. Parking is easy, especially outside shopping hours. The complex is well looked after and there’s a good choice of places to eat nearby.

Brilliant Cinema
Jan 2020 • Couples
We travelled from Bedfordshire specifically to see the film 1917 at this spectacular cinema complex. The auditorium was clean, the seats looked new and were really comfortable. Great view of the screen and the sound was good too. Parking was plentiful and cheap at 50p an hour in the purple section. Beware the red zone though! Well worth a visit.

fun 4DX film experience
Oct 2019
Thanks to the earlier reviews, we sat right at the front for the film and it was great fun. The chair movement is the best bit and we saw a bit of smoke and got squirted with some water.

Definitely recommend it but we went on a 241 offer so not sure we'd pay the full price.

Dirty and long wait
Oct 2019
We drove 20 miles from our home to watch a movie here, had booked the tickets on line prior, when we got there we couldn’t get tickets from the machine as it wasn’t working, had to cue for 10 mins a popcorn counter to get my tickets printed.

Bought some sweets for my daughter and a bag for us to share, just a bag or sour sweets and a bag of malteasers £6.35

We went in to theatre for a 2 pm showing, adverts started at 1.55pm and finished 2.25pm a ridiculous amount of adverts and trailer, you could hear all others around us moaning about them.

It’s no wonder most people wait for Netflix or sky movies for the films rather than go to horrible places like this.

4DX Experience!
Oct 2019 • Couples
Cineworld offer an exclusive screen throughout the UK, call the '4DX' which is a sensory-enhanced cinema experience, using stimulating effects like water, wind, scent, strobe lighting and seat movement. I hadn't heard of this until today, and it didn't disappoint! We got to experience this whilst watching Terminator: Dark Fate and I would highly recommend trying it out if you get the chance, it's very fun and different to a regular screening.

The cinema as a whole is very modern and well presented, the only downside would be simple wear and tear. And the website states that they are currently experiencing issues with their air conditioning, and I did notice that it was tad chilly, so maybe bring yourself a little hot water bottle!

No Air Con
Oct 2019 • Family
This is a great cinema in a great location however there has not been any air con for a considerable amount of time.
It gets uncomfortably hot and completely ruins what should be a great family evening out.
Considering the cost of tickets for a family this is unacceptable and we will be using the odeon at MK1 until the situation is resolved.
