This is a long one but here goes, there’s a few negative reviews on here amongst lots of descent ones but feel like clearing a few of them up.

over crowding… you will queue for lifts anywhere you go skiing / boarding especially if going at peak times, iv been to snow zone at it’s busiest and never had to wait longer than 5 mins to jump on a lift and at quiet times there’s no queue at all, as it goes its nearly always a lot less busy than Hemel Hempstead which is another great indoor slope 20 mins down the road with better snow quality but that slope is smaller and featureless and Hemel is my local but I’d much rather travel to Milton Keynes for the features and smaller queues.

Some people saying they can get down it in however many turns, it’s an indoor slope not a mountain and a pretty big indoor slope at that if you want to practice bombing it’s possible but obviously the run wont last that long you will just have to put the laps in, I actually found it made my carving so much better leaning to carve at slower speeds is pretty hard and to get as many hand on snow carves in as possible in one run, I’d say it’s more suited to learning new techniques / ground tricks / better control and just keeping that muscle memory going in the off season

Another thing i have read is not knowing where to go….. what on earth is that about its literally one corridor to the slope from the front desk with a very obvious cafe in that corridor with direct views to the slope, how people have managed to get lost is beyond me I mean if you can’t find that then I recommend never trying to navigate an airport on way to the real thing or a motorway for that matter.

The staff are super helpful and present while iv not had to rent anything so can’t talk from experience but walking past the rent desk there is always at least two people working there and all the gear looks very well organised and as descent as any other rent a gear stuff anywhere else.

Yea it can be pricy but if I think about the cost of running such a place it doesn’t seem that bad and in the summer there’s some awesome deals to be had it can be almost be around the same ad a dry ski slope which is a lot less fun.

We’ve been several times to Snozone and always find it enjoyable. On this trip the online booking experience was slick we easily found a slot at short notice the night before. On arrival it was easy to check the booking and issue the lift passes. After changing and stashing our bags in a couple of lockers ( you’ll need a current £1 coin) we went to get our skis boots and helmets. On this occasion I was disappointed that they had no skis for any of our party of 4 at the correct size. I was of course patient and asked if this was due to COVID restrictions and I was told no it was because people were on the snow now, won’t that always be the case?? Anyway using shorter skis is no issue on an indoor slope and we had an excellent time and the snow conditions pretty good. The slopes were not busy at all and were able to get several runs in on our Hour slot. The staff were super friendly both off and on the slopes. One point to mention, I’m a Ski Club Great Britain member and was surprised to find no discount available as with other indoor slopes, please add the club for concessions!

Did the full day beginners course at Snozone and was really pleased with the experience. I cannot recommend Carolyn highly enough as a teacher. She was kind, patient and took care to make sure every person on the course was coached thoroughly as individuals as well as a team.

The course took us through all the basics, getting to grips with wearing skis, how to to move in them, then gradually as the day went on we started learning how to descend the slope, starting at a low point, then gradually making our way higher and higher throughout the day. Carolyn taught us how to snow plough, how to turn, how to use the button lift and gave lots of helpful tips and pointers for each person throughout the day. There were times I struggled with some things at the mid point of the day, particularly as the venue became very busy and I found the sudden influx of other people on the slope to be quite distracting. Carolyn made sure to give me some helpful coaching and then took some time with me one to one to help me on the parts I was struggling with. By the end of the course I was happily skiing down the slope from higher up, turning and slowing down successfully on descent and was quite pleased with myself. I definitely have Carolyn to thank, who is an absolute credit to Snozone.

At the end of the course (which did come with a lunch included), Carolyn gave all of us individual feedback of what level we were at and which training course she would recommend next. This really was money well spent and I'm glad to have had some beginner's experience before my skiing holiday next year. I'll be sure to come back again before then to brush up on my newly-learned skills.

The actual family sledging experience was fun, however the Terms & Conditions around cold weather gear requirements and especially sales need to change.

I will start by saying that it was entirely our fault that we’d forgotten to pack gloves, in spite of these being stipulated as an entry requirement on the email; I fully accept this.

That said, we were told that the temperature inside “gets as low as -6 degrees ” (…meh…). We only had a 45 minute session booked and Snozone supposedly no longer rent out equipment “for hygiene reasons” (perhaps an odd / convenient decision given, for example, that you can rent wetsuits if you go scuba diving, bowling shoes if you go bowling, etc.), so our only option was to either cancel the session there and then for a refund or buy gloves. We were looking forward to it and didn’t want to disappoint the kids so ended up spending almost twice as much for the gloves as we had for the sledging session; not too galling as the gloves were pretty good value and we didn’t own true ski gloves for the kids anyway.

Here's the thing though; ‘being cold’ is subjective and the adults in the party at least should be allowed to make their own choices on such matters.
This was not a day spent skiing in -24 degree temperatures up a mountain in Livigno, or wherever; this was a 45 minute sledging session in temperatures which I didn’t feel ever even got near to -6. I spent half the time putting the gloves on and off as I was too hot and to add to the annoyance, I’d found a pair of liner gloves which would’ve done me just fine tucked into a coat pocket just before I entered; I went back to the front desk to ask for a refund for my new gloves I’d bought literally moments earlier and was told Snozone “don’t do refunds for kit sales”; I’m not sure that’s even legal?!

At least the kids had fun!

I have been to snozone a few years ago with work as a big group, while we enjoyed the activity (sledging) we’re told we must purchase gloves on arrival or we would not be able to go onto the snow which of course are as expected are fairly expensive from their shop, so make sure you take the correct clothing as it can be costly.
We decided to return this week, it states on the website that you must wear a helmet for most activities but this is only made clear if you search on the actual activity that you want to do, as it seams it’s not for everything. I don’t remember wearing a helmet last time we went so assumed it was only for adults. I emailed them in advance to ask if adults must wear helmets too, a few days later got a reply stating that everyone including adults must. I tried to get a refund a few days before we were due to go and explained that purchasing helmets for my husband and myself would cost far more than the activity it’s self for the whole family but I was refused and only offered to reschedule or vouchers. We don’t live near by at all and was only booked as we were passing from the south up to north. Anyways make sure you read exactly what you must bring with you before you book as you won’t get you money back.
They are not hiring out any equipment or clothing atm due to covid although I’m not sure why as I have been to do many activities where helmets are used since covid and they are all up and running as usual just with extra precautions in place.

nikkihH1872HE Thank you for the feedback, I'd love the opportunity to discuss your experience further. It's clear we've not held onto our policy of responding to enquiries within 24 hours and for this, I do apologise. Whilst we do communicate the helmet requirements throughout the booking journey, it is clear the message has not reached you. Our cancellation policy is flexible but it appears we've fallen short. Please do send me your contact details on kyle.bell@snozoneuk.com so that we can discuss further? Kind regards Kyle

We live in the area and have used the SnoZone several times with our 5 year old who can ski independently. We feel very lucky to live so close to it. However our experience on Saturday was nothing but frustrating.

I always book a 2 hours ski pass so we can ski for a while then take a break and recharge our 5 years energy levels before heading back out there.

We skied for 45 mins and then went to the cafe. It is table service due to COVID and we sat at a table for 30 mins and didn’t even get our order taken. In the meantime, a adult day ski class came and placed their order and got served immediately because their instructor told the waitress that they only had 10 mins.

In the end i gave up and I bought a curly wurly from the vending machine (for £1!!!) and hoped that would help my son last the 2nd half of the session.

When we got back to the slope, a lot more people and classes were there and there was only 1 lift working. This meant there was a double queue for the 1 lift. My son started to flag and then got really cold. It was taking 15 mins to queue and use the lift and then just a few minutes to get down the slope. After 2 descents I decided to call it a day.

Admittedly I would normally have had a snack in my bag to give him so I wasn’t reliant on the cafe; but I was still disappointed in the cafe. I appreciate that the COVID measures are in place for a reason but now that the SnoZone are booking more people onto the slope, the cafe needs to be resourced so that they can cope with the customers - having said that - there were not a lot of customers in the cafe and very few of them actually had drinks in front of them - most people, like us,seemed to be waiting to place an order.

It is not cheap to ski at the SnoZone and there is limited competition but that shouldn’t mean that customers are taken advantage of.

KAM_9 Thank you for the review, whilst delighted that you and your son enjoy visiting us regularly I am naturally disappointed when reading your recent experience. It seems like we've fallen short in some really basic areas and I'd love the opportunity to personally apologise to you. We're completing essential maintenance on the second pomma lift and have reduced the capacity to match this. It's best to complete this work during the quiet months however - I do apologise that it's had an impact on your visit - it shouldn't have and we will explore why. Please could you contact me directly on Kyle.bell@snozoneuk.com with a telephone number. I am confident that we can redeem the situation. I hope to hear from you soon. Kyle

Thoroughly enjoyed my snowbaord day course on 11/06/2022. My instructor was David who was incredible. Paid great attention to detail on each person in the course, was attentitive to our needs throughout the day and was cracking jokes pretty much throughout to make it a truly enjoyable experience. I think I got more out of this day than I could have immagined and would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to do the same. Look forward to my next visit already.

Completed a Beginners day course for Skiing and couldn't recommend it more! The Session starts at 10:30 and finishes at 17:45 (ish), lunch is included (nothing fancy but is perfectly reasonable). We had 5 people in total on the course (all over the age of 16) so everyone progressed at roughly the same rate. Our Instructor Dai had a wealth of experience and you couldn't have asked for a better person to

My wife and I had a great 2 sessions. I did a 2hr lift pass and my wife had a 90mins 1 on 1 private lesson with Dai (5stars for Dai) because she had lost all her confidence after getting hurt by other skiers/snowboarders on our last two ski holidays. Dai was very calming and relaxing and I could see that she was getting her confidence back and by the end of her session she was so pleased that she even shed a tear. I’ve only given 4stars as both days only one of the button/drag lifts were working which on our second day we only booked for an hour and as it was busy we probably only skied for about 30mins!

I attended the beginner's ski day course to help give me a jump start before learning to ski in the alps. My background was as a snowboarder, so had done a few trips to the alps on a snowboard, but never skied.

My class had 10 students (ranging from 20's to 60's ish).
We had 1 instructor.
Day started around 1030 due to some late arrivals, and finished around 1730-1745.

Dai our instructor was brilliant.
He is a kind, patient and really fun teacher, that really looked out for everyone all day.
I honestly can't recommend him enough.
He really drummed into us the key parts of skiing, whilst maintaining a cheery and positive outlook throughout.

The day accumulated with (most) of us doing, or at least attempting 'parallel plow'.
I felt confident of the basics by the end of the day, as did most others. One student in particular found skiing particularly more difficult than most, but Dai ensured he got all the extra help he needed, without it impacting our teaching.

The course itself is very good, and the teaching is brilliant.

In terms of the venue, it was my first time to the MK snozone, having previously been to the one in Yorkshire. Food there is unsurprisingly extortionate, however it is of a reasonable quality. You are encouraged to book your food so it can be ready for your lunch break, however there is no pressure to eat at the ski zone restaurant.

The car parking is ample, and is reasonably priced for a full day of skiing.

I'd certainly recommend the course to anyone planning on going out to the alps.
The keys skills Dai drummed into me really helped me get ahead in the alps.
I only got 2x 3hour lessons with some friends out there, and I found I picked skiing up very quickly thanks to having this head start.

Whereas I was able to attempt (and complete), my first black run after only 3 days of skiing in the alps, I can't guarantee the course will provide everyone with such a set up! Nevertheless, I was lucky to have such a great teacher.

Highly recommend the course, which is reasonably priced.
10 students for one teacher is excessive, and would recommend that snozone consider cutting this down.
