- Phil D1 contributionMuch improved experience for slope usersOur regular Ski MK Race Team session was much more enjoyable helped by some recent changes at Snozone. The left lift, looking up has a new carpet, and now a covering of snow much better. Also, poma's did not keep tripping at the top. This lift has improved from 2/10 to 8/10. It was generally colder, which significantly improved the snow condition. And the sledging net was NOT up, leaving both full runs available. Plenty of room for both recreational and club skiers. All of which made for a much nicer skiers experience. Many thanks for taking the time to feedback your experience at Snozone Milton Keynes with your Ski Race Team. I'm delighted that you have noticed the improvements we have been making, including the new poma carpet. We have recently installed new blast coolers that will further improve the slope conditions. - Charlotte C1 contributionFirst Ski LessonI had my first ski lesson at Snozone Milton Keynes the other day and I had such a great experience. I was extremely lucky that no one else was booked onto my course (level 1 & 2 combined) and I ended up having a 1-1 lesson with such a lovely coach called Carolyn. I came away from my lesson so excited to come back and learn more. She was really helpful and made the 3 hours very enjoyable. If anyone else is lucky enough to have Carolyn as their coach they’ll be in safe hands. How wonderful to read of your great experience with us for your first ski lesson! Carolyn is one of our amazing Coaches and we will be sure to tell her what you have said. The level 1&2 combined lesson is a great way to start your skiing journey with us and we very much hope you will continue on to the next level. - Lisalisalooby4 contributionsGreat place and some amazing instructorsSnozone is great, stand out instructors are Camille and Sue. Snozone sort out issues really fairly and are understanding thank you Josh for today. Wilf has really helped improve my confidence, unfortunately the reason I haven't given 5 stars is because Wilf has had to work on my confidence due to my last instructor Paul. I found him very condescending and I think he's forgotten what's its like being a beginner. In fact I was almost ready to give up but thanks to Wilf, I've had a great lesson and can't wait for my next one!Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience and I am so glad that Wilf has managed to rebuild your confidence and that you are continuing to have lessons with us. After an introductory 20 minutes ( after watching us ski) when he spoke to us about the general fundamentals of skiing he then looked at us all individually and gave us excellent bits of advice to improve our technique. Each of us felt tobe more solid skiers after this session so thanks for sharing your expertise with us Dai. I'll definately be back when I'm in the areaThank you for taking the time to let us know of your experience at Snozone Milton Keynes. - Jack B2 contributionsA Fantastic Introduction to Skiing with DavidWe had a fantastic first skiing lesson at Milton Keynes Snozone! Booked onto the Level 1 course as complete beginners, we turned up and found everyone to be really friendly and helpful. Signing in and getting our equipment was a breeze. The course started with David, our fantastic instructor, teaching us the basics with our boots and skis. As soon as we were suited and booted we headed out to the slope, which is a really impressive indoor facility. Our lesson began with learning how to clip in and out of the skis, turn, manoeuvre and step up a slope safely. David's instructions were really clear and before we knew it, we were starting our first glides down from the bottom of the slope. The lesson was structured in a really helpful way so that we were learning quickly but we were never out of our depth. Throughout the lesson, David's patience and skilful guidance helped build our confidence. By the end, we were confidently skiing down the slope with smooth turns - it was a blast!Wow, I loved reading about your level 1 lesson at Snozone Milton Keynes. Great to hear. It sounds like you went from beginner to being able to ski down part of the slope. Thank you for mentioning David who will be so pleased to hear about your lesson with him. - Alison H3 contributionsGreat private Lesson with ClaireBad start turned in to a great trip. We brought 2 hour lift passes to practice our skiing before we go to France next year. But once we got on the slopes my 7 year old had lost all confidence and didn’t want to do it without lessons. Luckily after talking to some lovely instructors they said that it might be possible to get a private lesson for him and found that Claire was available and happy to take him for a lesson. She was so lovely with him and gave him the confidence to get back on the slopes and remember his skills. Would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn to ski. I wish we lived closer so she could have another lesson with him.I'm really pleased that we were able to accommodate you with a lesson on the day for your 7 year old. Great to hear that he regained his confidence with Claire. When you next come this way to Milton Keynes we would love to see you again. Thank you for letting us know of your experience.Written December 20, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 19, 2023

I booked my wife and three children (13,11 and 9 years old) a private ski lesson for beginners on the real snow at Snozone MK. My wife was not overly keen, but went with it.
It was great to see them all come off the slopes beaming and full of confidence. Their instructor, Andrew, was able to adapt a single lesson for the different ages and make it fun for all. My wife was nervous and encouraged just enough to come out feeling like she achieved a great deal, but not pushed to progress quicker than she was comfortable with. By the end of the session, she was independently skiing down the slope. Our boys loved it and learnt lots. They had a great time and cannot wait to go again.

I have been to snozone a few years ago with work as a big group, while we enjoyed the activity (sledging) we’re told we must purchase gloves on arrival or we would not be able to go onto the snow which of course are as expected are fairly expensive from their shop, so make sure you take the correct clothing as it can be costly.
We decided to return this week, it states on the website that you must wear a helmet for most activities but this is only made clear if you search on the actual activity that you want to do, as it seams it’s not for everything. I don’t remember wearing a helmet last time we went so assumed it was only for adults. I emailed them in advance to ask if adults must wear helmets too, a few days later got a reply stating that everyone including adults must. I tried to get a refund a few days before we were due to go and explained that purchasing helmets for my husband and myself would cost far more than the activity it’s self for the whole family but I was refused and only offered to reschedule or vouchers. We don’t live near by at all and was only booked as we were passing from the south up to north. Anyways make sure you read exactly what you must bring with you before you book as you won’t get you money back.
They are not hiring out any equipment or clothing atm due to covid although I’m not sure why as I have been to do many activities where helmets are used since covid and they are all up and running as usual just with extra precautions in place.

Thank you for the feedback,
I'd love the opportunity to discuss your experience further. It's clear we've not held onto our policy of responding to enquiries within 24 hours and for this, I do apologise.
Whilst we do communicate the helmet requirements throughout the booking journey, it is clear the message has not reached you.
Our cancellation policy is flexible but it appears we've fallen short. Please do send me your contact details on kyle.bell@snozoneuk.com so that we can discuss further?
Kind regards

We live in the area and have used the SnoZone several times with our 5 year old who can ski independently. We feel very lucky to live so close to it. However our experience on Saturday was nothing but frustrating.
I always book a 2 hours ski pass so we can ski for a while then take a break and recharge our 5 years energy levels before heading back out there.
We skied for 45 mins and then went to the cafe. It is table service due to COVID and we sat at a table for 30 mins and didn’t even get our order taken. In the meantime, a adult day ski class came and placed their order and got served immediately because their instructor told the waitress that they only had 10 mins.
In the end i gave up and I bought a curly wurly from the vending machine (for £1!!!) and hoped that would help my son last the 2nd half of the session.
When we got back to the slope, a lot more people and classes were there and there was only 1 lift working. This meant there was a double queue for the 1 lift. My son started to flag and then got really cold. It was taking 15 mins to queue and use the lift and then just a few minutes to get down the slope. After 2 descents I decided to call it a day.
Admittedly I would normally have had a snack in my bag to give him so I wasn’t reliant on the cafe; but I was still disappointed in the cafe. I appreciate that the COVID measures are in place for a reason but now that the SnoZone are booking more people onto the slope, the cafe needs to be resourced so that they can cope with the customers - having said that - there were not a lot of customers in the cafe and very few of them actually had drinks in front of them - most people, like us,seemed to be waiting to place an order.
It is not cheap to ski at the SnoZone and there is limited competition but that shouldn’t mean that customers are taken advantage of.

Thank you for the review, whilst delighted that you and your son enjoy visiting us regularly I am naturally disappointed when reading your recent experience.
It seems like we've fallen short in some really basic areas and I'd love the opportunity to personally apologise to you.
We're completing essential maintenance on the second pomma lift and have reduced the capacity to match this. It's best to complete this work during the quiet months however - I do apologise that it's had an impact on your visit - it shouldn't have and we will explore why.
Please could you contact me directly on Kyle.bell@snozoneuk.com with a telephone number. I am confident that we can redeem the situation.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Being a mountaineer I have intended to learn to ski for a long time. I finally booked combined lessons one and two at the Snozone for a 3-hour evening session.
Though perhaps a little too many people on the beginner slopes I thoroughly enjoyed my lesson. My instructor Ovi was a fantastic teacher. He was complimentary when you did well and would offer advice on areas of improvement. I genuinely felt that he cared for his students even though we had just met that evening.
Great job guys! I'm back for lesson 5+6 this Tuesday ;).

I had originally planned to do a group snowboarding lesson which got cancelled due to the "rule of six" in which snozone offered private lessons for the same price.
I booked a private lesson and had Damien as my instructor. Damien was top notch, he was able to bring me up to speed, quickly recapping what I have previously learnt and showing me the next stages. We managed to cover lessons 3,4&5 in an hour, I immediately booked another private lesson to complete my snowboarding lesson. Great instruction from Damien, would fully recommend to anyone.

This is a long one but here goes, there’s a few negative reviews on here amongst lots of descent ones but feel like clearing a few of them up.
over crowding… you will queue for lifts anywhere you go skiing / boarding especially if going at peak times, iv been to snow zone at it’s busiest and never had to wait longer than 5 mins to jump on a lift and at quiet times there’s no queue at all, as it goes its nearly always a lot less busy than Hemel Hempstead which is another great indoor slope 20 mins down the road with better snow quality but that slope is smaller and featureless and Hemel is my local but I’d much rather travel to Milton Keynes for the features and smaller queues.
Some people saying they can get down it in however many turns, it’s an indoor slope not a mountain and a pretty big indoor slope at that if you want to practice bombing it’s possible but obviously the run wont last that long you will just have to put the laps in, I actually found it made my carving so much better leaning to carve at slower speeds is pretty hard and to get as many hand on snow carves in as possible in one run, I’d say it’s more suited to learning new techniques / ground tricks / better control and just keeping that muscle memory going in the off season
Another thing i have read is not knowing where to go….. what on earth is that about its literally one corridor to the slope from the front desk with a very obvious cafe in that corridor with direct views to the slope, how people have managed to get lost is beyond me I mean if you can’t find that then I recommend never trying to navigate an airport on way to the real thing or a motorway for that matter.
The staff are super helpful and present while iv not had to rent anything so can’t talk from experience but walking past the rent desk there is always at least two people working there and all the gear looks very well organised and as descent as any other rent a gear stuff anywhere else.
Yea it can be pricy but if I think about the cost of running such a place it doesn’t seem that bad and in the summer there’s some awesome deals to be had it can be almost be around the same ad a dry ski slope which is a lot less fun.

We decided that on a weekend visit to Milton Keynes we would book to go to the Snozone to try skiing for the first time. Booking was very simple and the location was easy to find with plenty of parking. Upon arrival the staff were very helpful and as we had arrived early they explained everything and guided us to there coffee shop / restaurant that overlooks the slope. It’s quite cool enjoying lunch whilst watching other people skii and snowboard. After a short while it was our turn and we were led to the snow slope where staff gave us a lesson on how to ski. We were then able to go down by ourselves (not from right at the top). I actually really enjoyed myself and would definitely do this again such good fun! I would highly recommend the Snozone for a fun filled ski or snowboard it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or experienced.

I visited Snozone in Milton Keynes last weekend and i have to say i was really disappointed. I understand it is peak time during the season, however it was ridiculously busy. I paid £41 for a 2 hour session and actually only spent around 30 mins on the slope as the queues for the lifts were horrendous. Really think they should consider limiting the number of people they allow on the slope as this really ruined my experience and i feel as if i wasted my money. Another suggestion would be that they put a drag lift on the beginner slope itself. I am compassionate with beginners as we have all been there, but when the lift is constantly stopping and starting whilst they learn how to use the lift, it is cutting into the time of those of the main slope. Safe to say i won't be returning in a hurry.

Thank you for the feedback, I am really sorry that you've left disappointed and really do wish that you'd raised concerns with the management team during your visit.
MK offers the biggest snow slope in the south and we're proud to protect the experience by operating the lowest attendance limits at peak times. It seems that something hasn't went right on this occasion.
Please can you send your contact details alongside a suitable time to get in touch, to Mary.McCormack@snozoneuk.com.

We’ve been several times to Snozone and always find it enjoyable. On this trip the online booking experience was slick we easily found a slot at short notice the night before. On arrival it was easy to check the booking and issue the lift passes. After changing and stashing our bags in a couple of lockers ( you’ll need a current £1 coin) we went to get our skis boots and helmets. On this occasion I was disappointed that they had no skis for any of our party of 4 at the correct size. I was of course patient and asked if this was due to COVID restrictions and I was told no it was because people were on the snow now, won’t that always be the case?? Anyway using shorter skis is no issue on an indoor slope and we had an excellent time and the snow conditions pretty good. The slopes were not busy at all and were able to get several runs in on our Hour slot. The staff were super friendly both off and on the slopes. One point to mention, I’m a Ski Club Great Britain member and was surprised to find no discount available as with other indoor slopes, please add the club for concessions!

On Friday 7th Feb, two of us had a private Ski Lesson with Megan and we couldn't rate it highly enough. We arrived 45mins before the start of the lesson and recommened on our booking confirmation and received our jacket and salopettes and received instruction in how to put on the boots and the right size of skis that we would require. There are lockers available for £1 (which you get back after use) and plenty of room in the changing area.
At 2.30 we were introduced to our instructor Megan and she spent a few minutes chatting to us about our previous experiences as it was the first time for one of us and a little experience for the other. The lesson was carried out at a good pace throughout and Megan was able to ensure the lesson was suitable for both of us despite our varying levels. All exercises/lessons were explained and then demonstrated before we practiced them 2 or 3 times to ensure we fully understood. The proper technique was emphasised throughout and Megan was extremely knowledgeable and clearly had plenty of experience to be able to instruct. After the lesson we took the opportunity to book a 2nd lesson with a 15% discount.

I keep getting told that the lessons for children don’t exist anymore unless you go private 1 on 1 but can see the sno academy being advertised still. Does anyone know anything at all to help us please?

We are taking the family for sledging session. We will take helmets for the kids but do adults need to wear them too??? As you can’t hire them anymore it might get £££ if we have to buy them there.

We certainly took helmets. As others have said take cycling helmets if you have them.

How does the social distancing work on the slopes?
Written October 15, 2020
If it’s a normal slope pass and without an instructor, you’re asked to always wear a mask and rarely ever closer than 2M to anyone else, unless of course you lose control.
If it’s a lesson or course, the same rules apply, however any tuition is done either half way down the slope or at the bottom, that way the top keeps clear and reduces gatherings.

How long do they actually get snowboarding for a birthday party (11+) and is the food alright?
Written March 13, 2018
They have classes of varying lengths depending on ability and what you’re looking for my advice is call them to see if they can tailor it or get it close to what you want, ask about discount as I think armed forces etc may get it and food I would class similar to if you went to a bowling alley. Fills a hole.

For tobaganing what shoes clothes will children need to wear ???

A good set of warm socks and wellies. Waterproof trousers or salopettes, a semi warm coat and a t shirt.
There is a lot of walking up the hill to do and as such, you will get very warm (unless you suffer from the cold quite badly, then add a layer).

Been skiing only twice as a beginner, but not been for two years, so not feeling confident. Coming on Sunday with my son Who has done two seasons in the alps and a very confident skier. What would you recommend to pick up from before? Lesson? Or just practice with my son. Also do we need to wear ski pants etc thanks
Written February 9, 2018
You will need ski clothing . The ski s and helmet came with the lesson . It was minus 5 in there . And wet snow. It’s pretty fast on the slopes . So if your not too confident I would suggest a quick lesson then join your son
Hope this helps
