Despite showery weather we two and a couple of friends had a ball here. We went from Salford to Liverpool, which the other two agreed might be more picturesque than vice-versa which they had experienced previously. Good and fascinating live commentary. Good food, drink and toilets. And after an hour and a half to roam round the Albert Dock, including... More

On departure it was evident that most passengers were over 60 years of age. The commentary (by a qualified badge holder we were told) was excellent , some of the passengers complained that that could not hear-she apologised added that that was nothing she could do about that. The ship was actually a ferry, not a ship designed for a... More

I recently travelled as part of a group along the canal from Salford Quays to Liverpool. It takes 6 hours to travel the 35 miles but it was most relaxing and very interesting. A Blue Badge guide gives a running commentary, explaining the history of locks/bridges/canalside factories/docks/buildings. And if she didn't know the answer to a question that was put... More

The Seacombe ferry port is easy to find. Signposted from the M53, it's got an edifice to aim for and free parking. The people are lovely and helpful. I forgot to get my barcode scanned but the crew sorted it in moments. Our cruise started in a holding pattern because there was a massive tanker 'Atlantic Wind' in first lock.... More

Salford Quays to Liverpool by Mersey Ferry. This is a six hour trip passing through five locks and twelve bridges complete with commentary on the various sights along the way. It is fascinating to watch the swing and lift bridges operate and it presents a whole new vista pf Liverpool as the ferry crosses the Mersey at the end of... More

This was a really well organised tour. Very interesting commentary all the was through. Just over three hundred people on board. Facilities were excellent, the toilets were spotless. The food was a bit on the expensive side. All the staff worked very hard to make sure everyone enjoyed the experience. The only downside was the weather. Torrential rain lashing down after... More

We enjoyed this cruise and found it interesting but not sure it would appeal to everyone, children may find it boring. If you like industrial landscapes it is fine (though not sure what people expect to see along a canal built between 2 northern industrial cities!). Food and drink was expensive, though not as much as we expected and it... More

This is a great trip, but needs booking well in advance with Mersey Ferries. We cruised Eat-West (Salford to Liverpool) fascinating stuff along the way. Peel Holdings seem to be putting a great deal of effort into revitalising trade along the canal. It is not clear quite how long you might wait for the coach from trip end to return... More

The organisation was hit and miss; these trips are planned, they only run on specific dates, it's not as if its every Friday, Saturday etc, therefore, the organisers must know about high and low tides, after all they are sailors and maritime people. It was suggested we should arrive at the terminal about half an hour before boarding, form an... More
