Having just visited Wenlock Priory we then visited here with it being less than 3 miles away.. This is a small Abbey but don’t let that that put you off.. Walking around this ruin was really interesting. Again there is some great detail and some...More

Well laid out site although it might be a bit restricted for wheelchair users. Nice architecture to be seen. Not a big site.

I took my wife and grandson there as it is quite local to where I live. It is a a good example of Norman architecture. It is not a large site but well worth a visit. The staff are most welcoming.

Like several other reviewers we were disappointed by the information available at what is quite interesting site I cannot understand why English Heritage have not provided their usual signage and explanation boards, as they do at other sites? I would have been even more upset...More

Lovely place for a walk around but an hour at the most is needed there as obviously it’s a ruin! However it’s very impressive and so e lovely photo opportunities.

There is a lovely sense of peace & tranquility here. This is the only Daughter House to Barrow in Furness Abbey (where we lived for a few years) & nothing to do with the Abbey in nearby Much Welock. Take a picnic & enjoy the...More

You could easily pass this site, notice the sign for the Abbey, but expect it to be small and insignificant. You would be wrong. The still standing buildings are extremely impressive in scale if not necessarily in detail. Well worth a stop. Easy parking and...More

We visited several English Heritage sites in the area. This was one of the smaller sites. It's interesting to see but not easy to understand. There's no audio guide for the site, presumably due to its small size, but there are no interpretation boards either....More
