The service was slow..as this was first day of opening due to lockdown I can forgive them this..but on going to the toilet they definitely needed a bit of TLC which is not acceptable as they have been close since xmas.

This was another of the highlights of the Cheltenham CAMRA ale amblers visit to Swindon, one of three excellent pubs close by to each other on Devizes Road. They have a great range of real ales, both cask and keg, from a variety of good breweries. I'd have been quite happy to stay here for longer - but there were some other similarly good ale houses close by to try out too, and I'm not a frequent visitor to Swindon (although I may now be tempted to return).

First off let's clear up any confusion, this is the Hop Inn as opposed to the Little Hop which is the neighbouring bar in the premises that used to be the Hop....clear? 😂 This tends to be known, for clarity, as the big Hop, at least in my circles 😉 This really is a great bar for ale drinkers & craft beer drinkers and their associates. There is a selection of ciders & a good selection of specialist spirits. The bar staff are always attentive & in my experience knowledgeable about the products. The venue itself is roomy, with an eclectic mix of furniture. An attractive beer garden & smoking area is a real plus in Old Town Swindon. It really is a big improvement from the previous bar on these premises. High quality bar food is available from the Pick Up Point, in the bar, wings, burgers, vegetarian, all delicious and freshly prepared. The whole of this area has become a real ale - craft beer haven in Swindon, with the Hop & its little sister at the forefront. If you're visiting Swindon & enjoy good beer in a friendly welcoming environment, get yourself to Devizes rd and visit the Hop!

No point in coming to Swindon if you don't come here. Drinking an Animal beer (well, Cormorant actually) from TX. Catch it while you can - beers and food ever changing. The Korean Cauliflower and kimchi are delish. One v satisfied customer

We were so excited at the prospect of the new premises as the refurbished external view looked so inviting. We’d read that everything would be the same with the advantage of it being more spacious. However when we visited for a bottle of red and a delicious pizza, we were told that there was an issue with the kitchen and also that it wasn’t known whether the pizza man would ever be there again 😢 Unfortunately if that remains the case, we certainly won’t be back
