One of several places visited on a rainy Saturday, good atmosphere with lots of character in the building, good service of plenty of choices of alcohol, well worth a pint or two.

This is supposed to be the most haunted pin Derby but when you go in it does not give you that impression. The beer is good but its missing something, might be the ghosts.

The Jorrocks is a lively and "haunted" pub located in the heart of Derby and just a minute walk from Derby Cathedral. The pub offers a basic selection of beers at a really premium price and to be honest posed little character. There is always trouble and although it is sometimes lively at weekends it is mostly lively with people determined on causing trouble and underage kids. It can get lovely in football days so don't go in if you're easily offended. The pub has a small beer garden at the rear which can comfortably hold no more than 10 and the toilets are horrible. Overall would not recommend even given it being a so called local legend.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the appalling behavior of one of your door staff during our visit to Jorrocks Bar in Derby city centre on the evening of Saturday, 16th November, at approximately 9:48 PM.
During the incident, a member of our party, who has a disability, was using the toilet. Due to the nature of their disability, they required more time than someone without such a condition. Unfortunately, this was met with a shocking lack of understanding and professionalism from your door staff. The individual in question was banging on the door and shouting aggressively, demanding that our party member hurry up.
When I approached the door staff to explain the situation and request his name or badge details, he became verbally abusive toward me. When I attempted to photograph his badge for identification purposes, he escalated his behavior by snatching my phone out of my hand, which I find completely unacceptable.
I remained polite throughout the interaction, even pointing out that his behavior demonstrated a serious need for disability awareness training and fell far short of professional standards. I also highlighted that his conduct was unprofessional, unbecoming of an SIA-accredited door staff member, and contributes to the negative reputation often associated with door staff.
I have photographic evidence of the individual in question and am prepared to provide this if required.
I trust that Jorrocks Bar takes incidents like this seriously and that you will address this matter urgently. I ask that you:
1. Investigate this incident thoroughly and provide me with the outcome of your findings.
2. Confirm what steps will be taken to ensure that staff receive appropriate training, particularly around disability awareness and handling situations with respect and professionalism.
3. Advise what disciplinary action will be taken against the staff member involved.
The experience has left our party feeling deeply disrespected and uncomfortable. I look forward to your prompt response and trust that you will take this opportunity to ensure no other patrons experience such treatment at your establishment.

Spent over a £100 between me and my partner who was there from early afternoon untill 2200, was there all day enjoying ourselves, then got told I had to leave cos I was too drunk by the doorman(Hello your pub sold us the drink), no prior warning or anything. I'll take my business elsewhere in future, their are so many more pubs deserving of my hard earned cash than this s@@@ hole. I'll enjoy my time somewhere else in Derby in future

Historic little boozer with great atmosphere and buzz. Definitely a must when in the area. Only negative is minimum £5 spend on card which isn’t enough for a pint

The Jorrocks is one of the oldest pubs in Derby,I think it dates from 1746 and besides being one of the oldest it's also one of the most haunted.
We were here on a Thursday afternoon, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each, beers were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in .
While enjoying our beers we couldn't help but notice what a great looking pub this is,great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub,it really was a great pub we visited.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and although we only stayed for the one beer before we moved on for a first time visit we were very impressed with this pub.
The Jorrock is easy to locate on Iron Gate.
A great pub, well worth checking out if your in the area.

Are children allowed to go inside to look at the history of the pub?
