we found this pub on recommendation and were really pleased with the range of beers. only a little place, and visited in the afternoon, so don't know how busy it gets in the evening.

The Last Post is certainly one of the smallest pubs I've ever been to (though not quite as tiny as the Pump It Up in Belper): You get about 10 people in there and it's packed! But the place oozes community atmosphere, and you'll get into talking with other patrons immediately. At least that was my own experience, and I'm a rather shy, reserved person. The selection of drinks is also excellent: a fair number of hand pumps, and, more importantly, they offer real ales from smaller breweries, and the not usual, jaded Doom Bar or Pedigree. Lovely, helpful barman, too. The range of single malt whiskies outshines that of many much larger establishments. And, even in a place for just ten people, The Last Post offers live music! Highly recommended real ale micro for Derby, even if it's a bit off the beaten track.

One of the best of the "Micro Pubs" The Last Post has really established itself as part of Derby's highly competitive Pub community. If you're travelling to Derby and you're a fan of real ale, good whisky or live music then make this welcoming little bar a must visit venue.

I've visited this pub now on several occasions which says it all. It's a little gem just a 5 or 10 minute walk out of Derby City centre and it's worth every minute of the journey. It's a very cosy micro pub which offers a great selection of beers, whiskeys and typical British bar snacks. There is usually a musician of some form playing away in the corner and a very friendly atmosphere in the place. The beer garden out the back is great its literally like being in a city centre back garden, what better way to spend some time with a few mates? The prices are very fair. They have a cool system where if you brj g your Id once they write down the details meaning if you forget it the next time you can stoll enter. Such a great place with a great atmosphere. There's a few more good pubs in the area too so be sure to come and hit a few of them up in this area.

Made the effort to head out to the Last Post and it was absolutely worth it. Great selection of beers, ciders (that whisky cask one is dangerous) and whiskies coupled with an extremely knowledgeable and friendly landlord (Chris). If you are in Derby and have the time, head out here for a drink - it's well worth it.
