I have visited this pub numerous toes in the past and it has never failed to disappoint. The Brunswick Inn is just a 1 minute walk from Derby Railway station and around a 8 minute walk from Derby city centre, making it an ideal local to come and try some premium home brew beers, lagers, ales and ciders. The pub has a really nice interior with little nice nacs everywhere giving it a nice cosy and timely feel. The Brunswick also offers a food menu and a lot of space to sit both indoor and outside. Overall, this really is a must visit pub when in Derby. What would I recommend - Thistly cross (whiskey cask/cider).

I can't think of a single bad thing about The Brunswick. It's conveniently a couple of minutes walk from the railway station. As a cider ticker I love it because there are always at least a dozen on. And when a box is finished they tend to order something different so every visit you will find something new. I go on weekdays around midday, with four rooms there is never any problem getting a seat. Probably best cider pub within 40 miles of my city of Birmingham, in fact I can only think of a couple of pubs in the entire country I'd rather be in, and those are some 120 miles away so I'm limited to an annual holiday. See you soon.

As Chair of CAMRA's London Pubs Group I led a long-planned tour of pubs in Derby on Saturday 25 March. We began at the Brunswick Inn and made this our official lunch stop. I was only expecting about 12 to 15 people to join the tour but there were over 30 attenders. Stewart, the barman, did an admirable job of serving us all with drinks and lunch. The real ciders and ales were in good condition and there were a lot to choose from. For my lunch I had shepherds pie which was home-made and wonderfully tasty. Several others ordered this too but many people ordered the cobs which were made to order and were, according to those who ate them, very good.

Stopped in for a pint on our way to the train station. Very impressed with the COVID precautions in place, excellent job. Thank you for taking the extra effort to make your customers feel comfortable and safe in these current times. Throughly enjoyed our pints of Railway Porter!

Meeting old Derby based friends, travelling up from The Black Country by train this place was selected for lunch, after a visit to the railway memorabilia filled pub next door. The Sunchaser ale was delightful a great session ale, in fairness the full variety of ales, porters and bitters is not for the faint hearted! The food menu is extensive and all our meals were exceptional, great Shepard’s Pie, burgers, BLT’s with chicken and cheese toasty….. looking forward to my next visit already.

We’ve been looking forward to a trip on the train for a cosy lunch at the Brunswick throughout lockdown. We are not disappointed. We booked last night and were asked where we would like to sit - a great detail following COVID precautions.
There is a clearly signed one way system, screens at the bar and everywhere is scrupulously clean.
The range and quality of beers is wonderful. My go-to choice is Railway Porter.
The food is excellent and very well priced.
Whatever the Brunswick sets out to do, whether brewing, food, COVID precautions or events, it does well.
Great pub. So pleased to be back.

Popped in after getting off the train. I tried a couple of their own beers and was not impressed so then went for a non-Brunswick ale which was far better. Good place if you want to relax in a quiet atmosphere (no music etc) but there is a much better (and friendlier) pub around the corner in terms of choice of ales. Wouldn’t go back.

This pub is hard to fault. The ale, mostly brewed on site, is excellent. There are many to choose from so fill your boots! The staff are very helpful and the building is very different. A superior pub in all respects. Love it.

Walked in on a quiet Sunday night with my wife about 6ish in the evening
No sign of any bar staff behind the bar. A person in the bar who I presumed was a regular went to to the beer garden where the bar staff was having a smoke.
Lovely pub but staff seemed distracted.

Haven't been to Derby for a few years, but this used to be my first port of call from the station when going to the football. However, this time, some miserable old gimmer on the back door wouldn't let us in as we're from Sheffield. I'm 69 years old, and my 2 mates are 70! So I'd recommend popping round the corner to the Alex, where we got a warm welcome and some finel ale......
