This traditional pub is by the railway station and has a very large interior. We visited before dinner on a Thursday night and it was really quite empty.
Nonetheless we enjoyed our visit and two glasses of Pinot Grigio cost ÂŁ10.50.

Just come from the Waterfall for my daughters 4 th birthday and I must say how great I found the staff, friendly, helpfull and did not rush me to get out when the time was up, the menu was flexible and catered a healthy but fun buffet with plenty of choice and lots of it. Kids had a great time, other parents booked whilst they were there as they too were impressed and such good value for money

Thanks for taking the time to write us a review!. I'm glad you had a great time, I'm sure there were plenty of tired children that afternoon. Please consider us for future parties. Kind regards Venetia

I had to book this venue at the last minute because my numbers increased rapidly and needed a big venue. I booked the VIP Executive Suite but needed it to fit my needs for the event I was having there. Nothing was too hard for Gemma and the staff at the Waterfall, they met my needs all the way. We had own catering, own DJ and entertainment but had their Bar. The staff were very helpful and I can't thank them enough. It was the first time i had an event here and I wasn't too sure when i booked it, but i would deffo recommend it and I would have another event here too.

Thanks so much for helping us to have a lovely day :-)

We had a 40th Suprise Birthday Party for my Brother at the Venue on the 2nd March 2024. First and foremost, to complain about was the room was cold and guests had to keep their coats on and complaining it was cold , the 50 pre drinks at the door was non alcoholic and we was told it would be presecco and it was not. My mum also said the food was neither fresh nor appetizing, there was not pork pies missing off the menu , sausage rolls were not what we expected , the chicken wings were only a few in a small bowl and no tongs etc and people were complaining about the food. Considering the significance of a milestone birthday like a 40th, i expected a much higher standard of quality and attention to detail. The drinks served at the bar seemed watered down as a number of people complained including my partner, they had to return drinks .My disappointment and dissatisfaction with the 40th Birthday party event we recently attended at Waterfall Derby. Despite my initial excitement and high expectations for the celebration, the overall experience fell far short of what was promised and what we had hoped for..

Appalling toilets! Only 1 out of the three ladies toilets weren’t sitting in giant puddles. I know there’s been a lot of rainfall but don’t expect flooding indoors in a venue of this size! The one I did use didn’t flush properly either! Piped music was totally random. Expensive prices for cheapo wine too and £4.50 a pint.

Staff member was very nice and friendly though, showed us a table with a plug and was cleaning away behind the bar- the stars are for him! They only had 6 other customers in the hour we were there.

I have been coming to this pub for over 20 years, on and off. I visited on Tuesday though and boy has it gone downhill! As the gentleman below me said, there is no heating on in winter, not good enough when you pay ÂŁ6.20 for a pint of beer, you don't expect them to be stingy with the heating. The toilets was absolutely disgusting, black mould, filth, grime and rust all over the walls and pipes and a very strong smell of urine, it was acrid. The young gentleman serving was fine, absolutely no complaints there, he even offered to carry an elderly gentleman's hot chocolate to his table when he was spilling it. It's a shame the greedy landlords are letting the side down. A pub from my childhood, it would be sad to see this close but I think it's inevitable the way things are going!

The Waterfall pub is a large pub situated opposite Derby Railway station and around a 10 minute walk from Derby city centre. The Waterfall offers a basic range of beers you'd expect but at a seriously premium rate of around ÂŁ4.50 a pint. The pub is extremely big and has a pool room and 2 large function rooms. The cost of pool is ÂŁ1 per 15 minutes. There has been literally no work done on the pub for as long as I can remember even though it's a huge building I don't get the inflated rate on the alcohol. The Waterfall does show the football and other live sport on several screens. The pub also offers a menu from which I've eaten from before and it is adequate. The pub lacks a serious amount of character and given other pubs in the area I would advise you steer clear.

No heating so the place was very cold, had to keep my coat on. Ordered some food was cold, chips were not cooked right was stale found a hair in my cheese burger. Not many options on sauces, table wasn't very clean. When I went to the toilet I could smell mould and it smelt like urine. The prices for drinks are stupid for a place that doesn't even run hot water to wash your hands, The staff were rude.

Visited today with my husband for a drink before the Derby County v Sheffield United match. We are both derby fans who live in Sheffield. On arrival the bouncers asked to see a match ticket (which my husband produced) to check that we were home fans, they then wanted to see his ID (even though he’s 37) but as it has a Sheffield address they wouldn’t let us in. He even had a derby county shirt on. I then showed them my season ticket and explained that I’d been a season ticket holder for 20 years but still this wasn’t good enough. I explained to them that people do move, but it was like talking to a brick wall. There was absolutely no common sense on show here. Won’t be returning.

Went to this place for a birthday celebration. Very small bar for the amount of people the rooms holds, 2 people serving. £4.80 for a single vodka and coke out of a can. Ended up buying a bottle of wine for £18, just cheap plonk. Absolutely no accessibility whatsoever, 2 flights of stairs to the room, how on earth are disabled people supposed to access the room.? Went to the ladies on the ground floor, nice sinks and that was about it. Managed to see my forehead on the mirror and that was it. I’ve been looking for a party venue for a big celebration birthday, this place is not in the running now.. I recognise this is an old buiding but come on, accessibility is so important!
