The current exhibition is 60's men's fashion. Enjoy the colourful outfits of Carnaby Street. The downstairs is the Georgian show home of Mr. Pickford. Go for the guided tour if you haven't visited before. Good collection of toy theatres

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the professional showcase and family home of architect Joseph Pickford, which provides an insight into various aspects of domestic life from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
Dan, the member of staff on duty, was pleasant and welcoming, giving us a brief introduction and recommendation regarding the best way to view the exhibits.
The rooms are well presented, with one or two showing the owners of the time entertaining and relaxing, detailed sheets giving information about the items of furniture and other objects in the rooms. I think it would have been helpful to be advised that the motion sensor in the kitchen area will sound during your visit as unfortunately, presumably for some technical reason, it cannot be deactivated.
The Toy Theatre Collection is excellent and The Peacock Revolution, displaying men's fashion from 1966 – 1970, is very eye-catching and provides a wonderful trip down memory lane, especially with the display of the fan magazine Rave in all the satisfyingly soft-closing drawers below the jacket worn by Elton John. Finally, don't forget to 'spend a penny' and enjoy the colourful work of art in the Edwardian bathroom!

A fine example of a Georgian townhouse that also acted as a showhome for the architect, want to buy a house - come for dinner and see mine! Downstairs is the Georgian house. The first floor currently has an interesting exhibition about Florence Nightingale and nursing. The second floor has a watercolour exhibition of Derbyshire people at work which is very good. Very friendly, helpful staff. Lovely wildlife and Georgian gardens.

Free parking accessed from the street behind (Agard Street)though ensure you are in the right hand lane and look out for the sign as easily missed!
Museum free but obviously donations welcomed. Staff welcoming and helpful explaining what to see etc and museum surprisingly quiet on a wet day. Highly interesting to all ages. Don`t think there`s a lift and it is over several floors. Has extra exhibitions eg Florence Nightingale/home health and local occupations art exhibition. An excellent way of spending a couple of hours.

Great little museum that is good to visit on a cold/wet Derby day. Lots of history and interesting antiques. Good place to while away 2 hours.

We have a group of Chinese guests coming with us to visit in the summer. Is it possible to arrange for the children to wear themed costumes? There are about 10 children total.

We do have a number of costumes but it might be helpful if you can let me know how many boys and girls are in the group. Also if you can let me know the dates of the visit, we can see what else we can arrange to add to the experience.
