In the heart of Derby city centre is it's first escape room. Described as "brilliant", "fun", "gripping" and "challenging", we combine a mixture of traditional, team-based logic puzzles, with technology. 2-10 players, ages 12+

Great afternoon escaping from Utopia. Perfect for the occasion and managed to get out with 18 seconds to spare… not bad to say there were only two of us

A group of 8 of us did Spellbound yesterday and loved it! The puzzles were great and with a few (!!) Clues from the staff managed to escape with minutes to spare! The staff member in charge of our group, Sam, was enthusiastic and friendly. He was also fabulous with my autistic son who didn't feel he wanted to go in the room, he showed him what was going on in the room on the monitor and explained what we should have been doing to solve the clues!! This meant that he enjoyed the experience as well and felt included. We will definitely be back to do other rooms!

It was a super 50th birthday celebration - our first ever escape room and we all thoroughly enjoyed it … from teenagers to grandparents. Lewis was great and helped us along when we got a bit stuck, but we all felt a huge sense of achievement (and relief!) when we got out with 2 mins to spare! Highly recommend. Would love to do another one. Thanks very much for a fab time.

3 of us went to do 2 of their escape rooms that I read are great to do in one sitting, Dystopia and Utopia, and they were fantastic
Ended up changing our plans for the day to return and do Spellbound too. an equally amazing experience
Had an amazing day, enjoying 3 excellent escape rooms, that are all really creative, fun and exciting and I would happily recommend them to everyone.
Really nice hosts too, thank you Millie for looking after us so well and being very welcoming

Lauren gave us a lovely warm welcome before we entered the room. We did Dystopia and it was so much fun. Very interactive, very puzzling in parts and a damn good brain workout!!

This was our first ever Escape room and we couldn’t have picked a better one. Loads of fun and we felt well looked after and felt like we could be newbies without embarrassment. Will definitely be back to do some more!

Excellent! Booked for my daughter's 13th birthday for her to do signal with 3 of her friends. The staff were amazing from the call to book until we left on the day. So friendly, helpful & informative. We were able to wait outside the room & watch on the screen, during this time the member of ( apologies can't recall his name) staff kept us fully informed with stats on how they were doing & the details of the game. The kids loved it & were out with 9 mins to spare. Highly recommend for all ages ( we did one last year). Many thanks to a great team for a fantastic day.

We had so much fun! Our game master (Helena) made sure to give us extra clues when we got super stuck and asked for help on a couple of the final puzzles, but otherwise left us to crack on with it - which really contributed to our sense of achievement when we escaped! She and all the staff were absolutely lovely too :)

What's the minimum amount of people you need to play?

All info is on their website, but we had just the two of us, so we did The Signal. Spellbound needs a minimum of 4 people and has a higher rating for difficulty.
Can children attend this age 7 and 12 xx
Hi Hayley B, we recommend Make Your Escape for ages 12+. This is partly due to the complexity of the puzzles, and partly due to some props/effects (which younger children may be nervous of). Of our two games, Spellbound is the more challenging as is certainly not one we recommend for children. Children do enjoy The Signal, but we do always speak to parents if they want to bring younger children to warn them of the complexity.
