Lovely summer's evening & when we arrived at the Pelican, many people were sat outside sampling the vast array of beers & cider on offer. Such a great atmosphere & excellent ales - my particular favourite was the espresso martini beer from Bristol Beer Factory...More

This little gem is a must for any real ale drinker who prefers the traditional type of pub. We would rather go here than to the modern manufactured establishments. You get a good pint and a warm welcome even if you are not a regular...More

It's probably forty years since I last visited The Pelican. A quick search for the name will tell you that they closed in 2008 but they've evidently reopened since then and I was greeted by a very good range of ales and ciders and a...More

Good selection of real ales in a nice cosy pub. Gets a bit busy when the rugby is on! Large garden/outside area. A true gem in Gloucester!

The Pelican has an excellent selection of Wye Valley beers. We thought that the Wholesome Stout was exactly wholesome, in great condition and tasty. The Pelican also has an excellent selection of local characters chatting in the low ceiling bar on the Thursday lunchtime when...More

Visited this bar behind Gloucester cathedral on 07 March. The barman was great very friendly I would recommend visiting there. Great ales and cider and worth trying their pickled eggs.
