An abundance of nostalgic bric-a-brac and memorabilia.

If you are nearby and want to pass an hour, at £2 a head it is worth a visit, especially if you have children. It is nothing grand, but it serves as a window into a bygone era and brings back fond memories if you are old enough!!

Real insight into the sad world of how the poor lived
Aug 2015 • Family
Seeing how people had to live and reading their stories was a real insight into a world long gone. I am sure that those who 'invented' and ran the workhouses thought they were doing good, but the lives of the poor wretches were still very bad because of the rules and regulations.

Women were especially treated badly and the museum highlights this well.

History preserved so that we can have a glimpse into the past.

Museum
Jul 2015 • Couples
This was a brilliant insight to how life was in a bygone era. You could imagine how harrowing and the pain of the people that unfortunately ended up there. It has been fantasticly restored and their kitchen garden is a testiment to all the volenteers hard work I would recomend buying the pass for all three museums as they are all worth a visit.

So much to learn and understand about life in the workhouse. Very sad true stories bring it all to life, what a life it was.

Heard about this new gallery on the grapevine, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Lovely light, airy spaces - contemporary, interesting, quirky pieces to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. Cards, smaller items - browsed for ages with absolutely no pressure from the lovely people there, so enjoyed the experience. I'm redecorating at the moment, so will certainly return to hunt for that special piece of artwork. This gallery is a worthy and unique addition to what Harrogate has to offer.
