Jimi hendrix cover music was good, cant understand why there is a 50p charge for using a bank card to pay for drinks though (thats bank card not credit card). Make sure you take cash, very cramped/tight inside, drinks were cheap enough at the bar.

Well such a shame. I have no choice but to rate this place with a rating I've never had to use before. On Saturday we visited here across tea time. It's wasn't busy at all and we found a table very easily. Result. However this is were our nightmare began. Unfortunately the drink I wanted (dry martini) was only available... More

Went to the Blues Bar on a Saturday night to see the Jed Thomas Band. The downstairs bar, with the band on stage in the window is small and cramped. However, the reticent Yorkshire folk in the bar hung back, leaving room for me and other half to boogie on down in front of the band. One grumpy local told... More

Food was absolutely delicious, so much variety of meat, fish and sides. Definitely go for the chefs platter and have a bit of everything. Good atmosphere as can hear the music from downstairs but not too loud for talking. We went for a birthday & they came out singing happy birthday with a card. Excellent place and something a bit... So glad we squeezed in to this small bar .There was a live band performing in the window . Great atmosphere ,very cosy and compact . The band were brilliant . Don't go if you don't like being jostled about . but it was all good humored. Plays on till late , recommended.

We visited the Green Room upstairs and ordered the meat platter for 5, we sat down at 8:15pm and orders were taken around 8:30pm thinking we would be eating within 20-30 minutes as it was busy. Unfortunately we ended up being served at 10:00pm!! The food is stunning but worth that kind of wait.....?? Not so sure about that. The... More

Found this by chance. Had 2 good nights and music was very good. Only criticism is that it was too cramped with people knocking into each other. We would go back again but get there earlier to get a seat.

The buzz is always palpable - we live less than ten minutes away and keep vowing to visit more frequently. The atmosphere is rocking and the age group spans 20-70 year olds. Dion't expect a seat - part of the charm is the way everyone is packed in like proverbial sardines! Cheers and enjoy!

Well been there for a couple of hours and seen two bands waiting for the third and spilt a soft drink went to the bar to order drinks and was refused for being too excited...really all other patrons were flabbergasted...won't be going back there again is it a crime to enjoy yourselves on a bank holiday...the two groups we saw...
