Duncannon beach is a lovely place to come especially if the sun comes out the water is safe compared to other beaches and the beach is clean. You can drive onto the beach which is quite handy if travelling with the kids, just be careful of the odd car traveling too fast

The beach is very nice and clean. Parking can be a bit tricky. The fort beside the beach is well worth a visit. Lots of clean sand with no rocks for kids to play on. There appear some pools with low tide in which they can fish with a net for crabs, shrimp, tiny dogfish and tiny flatfish. There is... More

Myself and himself thoroughly enjoyed a lovely long walk along this beach. It was early evening when we visited so not too many people were about, which was fantastic for us. It was a murky, misty day but it didn't dampen our enjoyment too much. We would happily visit if we were in the area again. We found parking was... More

The water here is not clean, so you shouldn't paddle in any puddles, there are warnings posted around, but few tourists read the signs until it is too late. That said, it is a lovely site and is the home to a fantastic sand sculpture competition each year. There are also lovely views and some nice places to grab a... More

Visited the beach with three young kids. Fantastic views and very safe for kids -the water was only a couple of feet deep for about 300m from the shore. On busy days it can get a bit crowded, with some cars blocking the route out, which is a particular problem at high tide. Thoroughly recommended. Great free playground too.

We really enjoyed a trip to this beach - plenty of sand to walk along and cars can be driven onto it too, with pubs and shops near by. Busy in summer though, so not somewhere to come if you want a secluded/quiet walk.

One of the few beaches in Ireland where you are allowed to drive and park on the beach! Lovely beach, lots to do around this area, short drive away from Loftus Hall and Hook Head Lighthouse

Summer holiday with sunshine and this great beach - really great find - cars even park at the back of the beach - great for paddling in the sea and walking along the beach - really great for the kids plentiful of space

This is a beautiful beach, with lovely clean water. Between the tractor sweeping and people with blue bags, it is well-maintained. The beach is on a kind of shelf, which drops off into Waterford Bay. So the water isn't too deep off the beach, but becomes deep enough for large boats. It is popular for kite surfing (but not the... More

Was here a few weeks ago, and despite being a beautiful long beach it feels like the community has just let it go. First there was loads of bit of glass on the beach, not that smoothed by the sea type but the sharp dangerous type. Second young lads driving up and down the beach doing wheel spins and generally...
