Home cooking!
Aug 2014 • Couples
We found this lovely welcoming pub near the end of our holiday...and what a find! Martin behind the bar was really friendly and served excellent Guiness! We had three evening meals there, home cooked by the lovely Ann. Good, tasty home cooked meals were just what we needed after a days fishing. Ann cooked us a special fish meal as our farewell last supper ! Lovely!
Food isn't served after 8 o'clock, so make sure you are there in time! From the outside it isn't obvious that they do food you need to go in.

Nice lunch near the bridge
During our cycling tour we came across this very nice pub in Ballyduff. Three of us ate very nice speciality toasts with chips and the other two a nice homemade vegetable soup. The place itself was very cosy. It's near the bridge over the Black Water river, so you can rent a canoe/kayak, peddle from Fermoy to Ballyduff and visit this pub afterwards :)

We were staying near by and wanted lunch, we walked into The Paddocks, and Anne was very welcoming. She made all the best food we could ask for(the homemade burgers were to die for) and our 5year old grandson demolished the 7,yes seven, sausages and chips. The Guinness was the best we found all week. we had to drag our son in law out as said he wanted to stay and we could pick him up onour way back from Youghal. thanks Anne.

After some time travelling across Ireland we came across The Paddocks Guesthouse, being able to walk in and book our room was a major plus. Both Martin & Ann could not be more welcoming, food was fantastic and being a Guinness man i found it to be a 5* pint. Worth the visit for sure.
