I’m a regular here because it’s handy and my husband likes the food but I find the menu so boring. I had the seafood pie which was a bit like gloop with mash piped on top and served in a soup bowl that reminded me of the bowls you get in a hospital. They are not scratch cooking here and there is powder substitute used in gravy’s Ect. It’s just not good enough really as it’s not cheap. My desert was very poor. A brownie with too much flour and not enough chocolate. And the Apple pie looked identical to the musgraves cash and carry one. They really need to up their game here as it just doesn’t entice you to come back…

We recently booked for a group of 14 including children, unfortunately when we arrived our booking could not be found in the diary. But there was seating so it was sorted for us. Maybe it was a bad day for them but the order taking was slow. When the food did arrive it was tasty. One of the courses we ordered was a pulled pork bap which had minimal pork in it when it arrived, this dish was sent back and was replaced shortly after. Overall this visit was a bit disappointing, As with all groups with children, they tend to get agitated as the sitting quietly drags on. Nice place in general. …

Becketts was recommend by our B&B host. Very good fish and chips and fish chowder. Service was excellent.

Always a great meal and service. Advise to book on weekends, especially on a Sunday as it is very busy.
