Fine enough but impacted by COVID
Apr 2021 • Family
Nice place to shop and eat, nothing really special.
I would however say that it has been limited by the closure of Debenhams, uncomfortable and strange seeing the amount of space unused, so, I would hope that something else occupies it since I don’t think it would be nice to keep seeing it. Another area was also unoccupied near one of entrnances, so, needs something too!
But , overall, a decent range of shops (especially was before COVID), good restaurants and well kept as most areas look clean.

Nice Mall
Mar 2021 • Couples
This is a lovely compact mall in the centre of Waterford City. It was quiet as many units are closed due to Covid restrictions. Great food hall doing takeaway only now.

Disgusting
Oct 2019 • Family
Went last week with 2 adults and 2 children.
It was very quiet, only 2 other tables being used but most tables were covered with dirty plates and trays from other people.tried to clear off a table but couldn't even find a bin so eventually put the dirty items on another table.
Ordered soup for 1, 2 toasted sandwhiches and a sandwhich with bread and a slice of cheese for a 1 year old.

Went to get cutlery and found most of it to be absolutely filthy.eventually picked some of the less dirty ones and cleaned them ourselves with baby wipes.

We were charged €6 for the half toasted bread with cheese for our 1 year old, same as a normal toasted sandwhich which comes with salad and crisps, but this one came with no sides on a dirty plate.

Total bill of nearly €30 for 2.5 toasted sandwhiches, a Luke warm tomatoes soup, small bottle of orange juice and coke.

The only 2 staff were actually polite and friendly but overall this place is dirty and disgusting. Would definitely not recommend ever going here for anything.

Businesses around city square be aware that the trash and litter is an eyesore. Pick it up,it’s the last thing people want to see when they are out shopping.

Sunday of Spraoi
Aug 2019 • Family
Went into Waterford on Sunday afternoon to have a look around Spraoi. The weather was not great as the evening moved on and we, with friends decided to go into City Square for a coffee, going upstairs to Starbucks. The staff here were really nice. It was just after five. We finished our coffees and it was time to move off home. It was coming up to six and outlets were closing or finishing serving. Two security staff were ushering, young people from the upstairs area, like bouncers in a pub at closing time. The PA was saying something that could not be understood by anyone. We were making our way out, to find one exit had been locked as we walked towards it. Locking us and a large number of people near the Specsavers side of the shopping centre, security Staff did this despite people walking towards this door to exit. There was no regard for what people were doing. They were locking that door and that was that. Pepe were still coming towards this exit which now locked and did not know what to do. It was just 6.00pm. There was no communication from staff to those present. We had children with us who were distressed that we would be locked in. Very unprofessional and would question the safety of this action from a Fire Evacuation point also with such a large crowd still onsite. One staff member could have marshalled those exit to prevent others entering and aid peoples exit

Friendly and Easy Browsing
May 2019 • Couples
Decided to have a browse after we left the Markets at St. Olaf's. Nice complex with a couple of Department Stores, clothing shops, food outlets, bookstore, etc. Easy to get around and friendly helpful staff in the shops that we visited. We both spotted a few items that we considered buying but in the end decided that we could only fit so much in the suitcases. Worth a visit if in the Viking Triangle area

Small shopping center
Jun 2019 • Couples
This is not so large or giant but very easy to visit & make some shoppings. We bought some useful accessories needed during our Ireland journey from here.

Small shopping mall in the centre of Waterford City
Sep 2018 • Solo
I have been to City Square Mall on several occasions and although it is quite a small shopping centre it has both Debenhams and Dunnes together with a number of other stores, there is also small food court on the first floor. It is also a good place to shelter if the weather turns nasty like it did on my most recent visit. Waterford was busy as the Harvest Festival was taking place and there were some ad hoc performances taking place in City Square as well as other places in the city. City Square is worth a visit whenever in Waterford.

A convenient place
May 2018 • Solo
Not much is sold here but you can find smaller items, Specsaver, clothing stores, household stores, saloon and pharmaceutical. All in all it’s not bad
