The Waterford Treasures Pass for 15 euros get you entrance to 6 attractions. The four we went to (and we will be back) offered such a variety of really well presented information and objects in beautiful buildings. The area is lovely to stroll around with murals and other artworks and has a gorgeous cafe. Well done Waterford

The Viking Triangle consists of a series of narrow winding streets anchored by Reginald's Tower, Greyfriars Abbey, and the Medieval Museum...
Steeped in history, this area of Waterford is the earliest of the Viking settlements in Ireland. The Tower itself is spectacular and at its foundation is a replica of a Viking Longboat...Christ Church Cathedral was built on the site of a n 11th century Viking church where Strongbow was married to Irish Princess Aoife in 1170. Take time to walk and savor the narrow streets and ancient stones that surround you...a splendid place to visit.
Enjoy!

I was very surprised by this little gem of a find in Waterford. A very old city and the Viking triangle proved to be very interesting with several very informative museums to explore. The Time Museum was a very special find. The guides were friendly and informative. A great way to spend a day in this ancient city.

Pretty good group of museums. The medieval museum was the largest and a bit hard to figure out at first. The others are smaller, you should be able to do them all in a few hours. There was an optional 3D Viking experience as well, which was pretty fun, I believe it was 10 euros per person.

This was the highlight of our trip to Waterford and it's probably the oldest part of the city with the most historic sites. It's got the Reginald tower and ancient churches along with some Vikings sites in this area. If you are in Waterford then this is the best way to start your trip with plenty of things to see.

As good a day on holiday as alive had in a long time, the Viking Trianlge in Waterford is quite magnificent.
The highlight is the area around Cathedral Square where you have the Medieval Treasures Museum and adjacent Bishop's Palace Both are well worth doing and you can buy a combination ticket in either one. The Charter of Warerford is on display in the museum as well as a myriad if amazing things and the tour of the Bishops Palace is really interesting.
Also worth doing is the King of the Vikings, an amazing history lesson using Virtual Reality goggles that really brings the Viking city to life.
Reginald's Tower is another must see though the interior was closed for renovation on our visit. There's a wooden boat on the pavement outside.
There is an incredible wooden sculpture of a sword that has to be seen to be believed to the side of the Treasures Museum as well as the statue of Strongbow and Aoife on Cathedral Square.
The Waterford Glass Museum is across the road from the Bishops Palace too. All of these are within 100m or so of each other on almost completely pedestrisnised streeta
A beautiful place to visit, loads to see and do.

This is a really compact historic area with a great variety of museums so you can spend a day & cover a lot of history from the Vikings to the history of civil service. The walking tour was great. Every one in the precinct is really helpful & hospitable.

I actually took a tour of the Viking triangle which basically covered everything I wanted to see in the area. I believe the tour was called the Epic Tour of the Viking Triangle. It was a nice walking tour that was only like 10 euros.

We visited on a bright spring day. This is a nice walk and 1/2 day adventure. There are several museum options, cute shops, and options for a delicious coffee and homemade food. It is across the street from the Waterford tour and a nice way to round out the day.

I have been visiting Waterford City for 40 years and I have always been interested in the city's significant historical past. There are a wide range of sights and attractions associated with its Viking heritage and relatively recently has been referred to as Waterford Viking Triangle. One of the most absorbing places of interest is Reginald's Tower which houses the Viking Museum. The Viking Triangle is a must see whilst in Waterford City. It was wet and rainy on my most recent visit but I was still able to explore the area despite the miserable weather.

Will be in Waterford for 1 day on a cruise, do we need to rent a car to do this tour or is everything within walking distance?
Written March 14, 2018
No car necessary. Waterford is walking friendly and small streets and corners.
