Liam our tour guide and the lady that dressed as the housekeeper were brilliant. They narrated the story so well between them . Very interesting and inclusive of us on the tour. My daughter especially enjoyed being included. Waterford has amazing history and these two brought part of it to life. Well done. Also, very interesting photos and artifacts from... More

Beautiful museum and let's you get up close and personal. We were especially interested in Brigadier General Thomas Meagher who we know fought alongside with my great great grandfather Silas Casey (major general) in the civil war. They had quite a bit of information on him and we were very happy with that.

Did the Bishop's palace after the medieval museum and as we were short on time, we wandered around by ourselves. We saw a tour guide in period dress giving a tour - it sounded excellent. Next time we're going to do the tour. We go to Waterford many times a year to visit family but this time decided to do... More

Options are audio guide, going it alone or guided tour. We chose the latter and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guides, who are actors, were knowledgeable while entertaining and brought the history to life. Beautiful historic Palace - would recommend visiting.

We enjoyed walking around palace and beautiful rooms from past times. Spirit contained between this walls shows how much citizens of Waterford appreciate their roots.

Very friendly staff, The lady on reception recommended the guided tour and what an experience. The Tour guides were in costume and they gave an enjoyable and fascinating insight to the history of the palace and family history. They were very friendly and very entertaining as well as informative. I got so much more from the experience than just looking... More

Fantastic museum, so much to see and do. They have done a superb job of complementing the old buildings with the modern. Tour guides are fantastic good historical knowledge, albeit trying to understand the soft Irish lilt!. Well worth a visit and the entrance fee...get a combined ticket well worth it.

We did not know the fantastic tour we were going to get here, but it turned out great! The tour guides were dressed in period and had some great Irish humor in telling the compelling tales about the residents and other history of Waterford. Fantastically one of the people was an American Civil War hero/general who started in Ireland as... More
