Self drive boat

This has to be one of the best excursions we have ever done, from the initial phone reservation to the booking in staff in the boat house it couldn’t have been any better. Then it’s on to the river with our guide Eugene, there’s so much to see from castles to unbelievable scenery and of course all the information and history Eugene provided. The boats are great fun, easy to handle and the tuition/safety is spot on. Highly recommend this to anyone it truly is a hidden gem in a beautiful location.

A wonderful day out

Did this tour today with a fantastic group of friends… the boat trip was amazing and Eugene completely made it.., his knowledge of the history of the river, the wildlife and his stories were hilarious. Laughed our way up the river.. highly recommend for a beautiful day out.

A little bit of magic

Wonderful half magical, half historical and yes another half eco guided trip on the Blackwater with the famous Eugene. He is a born story-teller and is tales are enthralling. He is also a wonderful guide to the eco-system on the river. We all from the oldies to the smallies thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.

Self Driving Boat

A great evening exploring the black water river on the self driving boats with Eugene. Eugene is great craic and a fountain of local knowledge! A great non profit local enterprise. A must do in Waterford… even in the rain!

A hidden gem

Stunning setting and a superbly knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed a September tour of the amazing Blackwater River during a clear evening. Flawlessly friendly and seamless booking experience from start to finish- I will definitely be back. And special thanks to our guide Eugene for his wit, charm and endless anecdotes- he made the trip super special.

One of our favourite Summer days out ‘18

We had the most enjoyable day out on the boat. I didn’t expect much as I’m a local of the area but I was so surprised, I learned so much and The children too. We can’t wait to book in again and bring more family who are also locals of that area for over 80 years and will still learn more. I can’t recommend this company enough, they were a joy to deal with from start to finish.
The area is so clean and welcoming. And there are picnic tables for bbq or picnic for after boat trip!
We will 100% be back.

Highlight of our holidays

I couldn't recommend this trip more. Eugene was a wonderful skipper. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining about the fascinating history of the river. The scenery is very lovely, with interesting wildlife. My 15yo & 12yo absolutely loved it. Eugene was great with young and older kids on the boat. Driving the boat was the highlight of the trip for them! And the trip was their favourite of our whole holiday. Just go! Great fun

Great experience

Had a fantastic time with out two boys. We kayaked up the river and it was amaing being on our own with the trees sweeping down to the banks.
The boat tour with Eugene was brilliant and informative and he really made it a special experience for our boys.

We got a self drive boat trip with Eugene . We had a brilliant time. Eugene was so knowledgeable and great fun , we had a great time . We will definitely be back
