Westport Walking Tours operate at 10am and 12noon, Monday to Friday from April to September each year. Westport Walking Tours offers a casual fun filled walk around the heart of Westport town for approximately 1 hour, whilst listening to some interesting stories of how the town was shaped. Hear stories ranging from how the Ice Age shaped Clew bay and Irelands holiest mountain Croagh Patrick, right up to today when Westport is consistently being voted Irelands tidiest town and even the best place to live in Ireland. We point out everything you need to know about our town to make your holiday in Westport unforgettable. We've added pub tours and food tours of our beautiful little town during the summer too. Unlike many cities and towns in Ireland that grew up around a market for farm produce, Westport is a planned town, designed by architects. Our guide, Ed, gave us both an informative overview of the town's history, but also its contemporary status. Ed told us lots of interesting facts and showed us some of the best the shops have to offer. Pleasant and informative. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend the Westport Food Walking Tour. Our guide, Deirdre, met us at a central location, the Town Hall Theater, at the scheduled time. We were a small group of 9 and walked and ate our way through the town. There was something for all tastes—fish & chips, chocolate, cheese & meats, gelato, and more. At the each stop, the proprietor (or a representative) shared information about the food we were tasting & how they sourced as much of their ingredients as possible from local farms/dairies/businesses.

I really enjoyed this walking tour of Westport. Deirdre was our tour guide and she was very informative. It was an enjoyable afternoon with lots of interesting facts and stories about Westport. We even had two stops for sweet treats along the way! I would highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I did a walking tour with Deirdre last week. It is a great way to get to know the town and its history. Deirdre was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who also was able to recommend various places to eat and shop. Highly recommended

Our guide Darren was fabulous. Born and raised in the town he seemed to know everyone and everything about this lovely place. We spent a lovely leisurely hour strolling through the streets while he pointed out his favorite spots to eat and drink and places to buy locally produced items. This is a definite thing to do while visiting the town!

A walking tour with a diffrence. The perfect opportunity to explore Westport with some history and a lot of laughs thrown in . The passion of all the cafe/restaurants/tour guide about their locally produced food and their town was great to experience fostering a great sense of community and working together to show off the town.

We did the Westport walking food tour on a beautiful summers day in August. It was a fun thing to do as a bunch of friends. We valued the opportunity to meet the owners of 10 different food outlets and sample their signature dishes In between we learned lots about the history of the town and its buildings from our delightful tour guide Deirdre.

Great way to familiarise yourself with the history and layout of the town of Westport. Our guide Deirdre was friendly, knowledgeable, interesting and very easy to understand. Good advice re eating out and shopping too. All at a very reasonable price of 10 euros pp. Thanks Deirdre :)

So glad to hear you enjoyed the tour, we try to keep the tours to in and around 60 minutes as we find most of our customers appreciate the fact that the tour is not too long. My husband and I, visited Westport in September 2017 and by chance stumbled upon Brian, a fabulous tour guide! I'm returning in July 2018 with family members to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday and would love to know how I find/get in touch with Brian to book a tour.

Thank you for the enquiry but our scheduled daily walks have finished for the season. At this time of year we only provide private group bookings, with our scheduled daily walks starting again in May.

hi pat ....the tour only cost's €5 which includes complimentary tea or coffee afterwards. ...its the best €5 you'll spend in Westport, make sure to do the tour early during your stay to get the real stories of Westport

Our tours leave from St. Patrick's statue the Octagon, Westport every day at 10am 12noon and 2pm regardless of weather or group numbers.."theres no need to book just turn up"
