I cycled this as part of group of adults and children on a mainly sunny and calm day. It was really good fun. The 11 year old struggled a bit because of a gear problem with her bike on the way from Achill to Mulranny but when that improved she was 'on fire'. The 14 year old could have done... More

Really enjoyed cycling the Greenway. Great sights, really easy to cycle and it felt very safe as it was off road. You did have to cross a few roads but that was fine. You could leave out the Newport to Westport section if you had limited time as this is the least scenic.

We really enjoyed this easy 13k (9 mile) ride from Mulrany to Achill Island. Our bike-hire company did not include a lift back so we cycled both ways. The entire path was off-road until the last mile before the bridge into Achill, which was slightly terrifying. Our bikes were decent standard, but not excellent. There are many bike-hire companies in... More

We are 3 friends with minimal biking experience. We decided to try the Mulraney to Achill Island leg of the greenway. From start to finish it was inspiring. We never expected the scenery to be so stunning and unique. It is hard to describe with mere words the beauty and remoteness of the scenery. We stopped off on route for... More

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience on the Mayo Greenway. The bikes were of a very good spec and in great condition. The way was clearly marked and mobile toilets were even provided on route. We cycled Mulranny to Westport Quay and if we could have carried on we would have, we didn't want it to be over.... More

We have been talking about visiting the Greenway for the past couple of years and finally did it this August. I don't know what took us so long, it's in a beautiful part of the country and it's fantastic to be able to cycle together safely as a family. Our children are 4, 10, 12 and 14. My husband and... Highly recommend. We hired bikes from achill which included a shuttle bus from westport to achill. The driver was fun and full if useful info. We collected our bikes with no hassel and cycled all the way back to westport. We were two adults and two kids 10 and 13. We left achill at 2pm and got into westport at... More

Its an excellent amenity, But needs more signage as you can be lead astray by lack of signs in parts, also could do with better surface here and there. But overall its excellent especially if you get good weather.
