A lovely spot for a walk or bike ride, the greenway is close to town and well marked trails make it easy to enjoy.

Narrow roads and steady traffic can make walking or cycling dangerous in Ireland, but the Greenway is a safe place, separated from the traffic, for pedestrians and cyclists.

This was s big surprise. Easy walk from Westport to Newport and bus return Took about 3 hours. Lots of farmland

Wouldn't think you'd have much trouble to be honest. Tarmac for a good chunk of the route. We went from Achill to Westport.

Hi ! We did exactly this but we continued all the way back to Westport Very scenic from Achill to Newport / worth it & not difficult as you should have wind behind you - check this the day before -that is my advice . Clew... More

Not suitable at all for racing bikes. Plus alot of children etc out walking so fast cycling not advisable
