We are frequent visitors to the gallery with our two children since they were toddlers. The permanent exhibition is always wonderful to see. The children particularly enjoyed the current exhibition which is a fantastic, loud ,exciting video installation, perfect for kids to enjoy. Unfortunately, their giggles and excitement upset the security guard who shouted at them to 'stop running around' and had my 8 year old in tears . She was so upset we left, incredibly disappointed. My kids know how to behave in galleries. They are used to visiting them and from the Reichsmuseum to the Uffizi, they have never before been shouted at. Perhaps the gallery has been experiencing some issues lately as I did notice some signage warning parents to keep children with them, which of course we always do. Disappointing from Limerick City Gallery of Art, maybe keep the shouting for kids who are actually causing trouble and not just enjoying themselves. Sadly, doesn't seem to be a kid friendly place to visit anymore. My two will take a lot of convincing to ever return again.

This gallery is wonderfully designed and a pleasure to visit with helpful friendly staff. The gallery always has a permanent exhibition on show which is changed regularly. It also has visiting exhibitions and one off exhibitions. It is a lovely space and on this occasion the exhibitions were exciting and vivacious.

What else does a human on holiday need? Take an amble around the free gallery which features local, national and some international exhibitions ( on occasion). The space is lovely. The building conversion into the art gallery is well done. Lots of space with occasional seating. A nice little treasure and makes for a nice, quick visit.
It is adjacent to People’s Park and the Zest coffee shop where many locals and a few tourists gather.

Excellent solo show of Elizabeth Magill's current work. Wonderful, calm ambience and nice cafe. The permanent collection of landscapes is beautiful!

This art museum has many paintings one on top of another all in one room by Ireland's leading nineteenth and twentieth century painters(Sean Keating,John Lavery,Paul Henry,Roderic O'Conor, and Barrie Cooke).Personal favorites were;Patrick Hennessey's"View of Kinsdale",Roderic O'Conor's"Market",Leticia Hamilton's"Venice"and Barrie Cooke's"Woman in Burren".So enjoy this free Limerick art museum.

Great space for a gallery. Very serene and great light in most of the rooms. Peaceful most of the time on a Sunday anyway and right next to the park so the kids can go mad afterwards. Swanzy exhibition was excellent as was Ryan (what is that white dog/llama). O'Dwyer was waaaay over my head. Very abstract. Kids thought it was mad but good to expose them to different versions of Art.

Our walk to the art museum took longer than our visit. Only 1 of 3 galleries was open (temporary exhibitions were being changed).
Given the many other great options in Limerick, our time would have been better spent doing anything else.
