We visited the castle on a wet and windy day (typical weather for Ireland). I was very surprised by the detail of the presentations plus the visit to the foundations was very interesting indeed. There is a lovely coffee shop. The price of admission is...More

I got the chance to visit this castle as I was heading from Shannon down to Killarney and decided to stop off in Limerick as I was never actually in Limerick before. When I got to the reception we paid in and headed up the...More

This was by far one of the best castles we visited while in Ireland. You can actually walk around and in a good bit of the structure. The surrounding area is nice to walk around as well.

DO not miss this opportunity to explore a 1200's castle. There is so much information in the interprative center, and then you get to stroll in, around, under and through this historic castle

It was very interesting, has a beautiful landscape from the bastion of the castle, and the customed irish "inhabitants of the castle" are kind and handsome ;)

Loved this castle. Great interactive displays and backstory before you come out into the castle courtyard. Take the time to slowly meander through the exhibits and read and listen. Made the experience much better. Great views fro the top of the castle.

A must visit for anyone interested in history. Well preserved and good displays. Lovely gift shop from where you can see into the castle outside area. Hopefully the work on the bridge will be completed soon as this may be off putting for some visitors.

Yes you can go into the cafe without doing the museum. You exit through the cafe after doing the Castle so you would be able to just go to the gift shop or Cafe.
