Just a quick review. Stopped in randomly at thr Dylan Whisky Bar and was greeted by Bianka. She recommended several good Irish whisky to drink and spend a good amount of time discussing Irish whisky and American whiskey. Bianka knew another and was very friendly, informative and generally excited to share her knowledge with us. Great experience.

Had a wonderful evening here! Bianka was a pleasure to talk to and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed chatting with her about Irish whiskey while trying a few. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a great place to hang out for a while and drink an impressive selection of whiskies and gins. Doesn’t feel touristy at all, a super solid legit Irish pub.

This bar supports the Kilkenny Whiskey Guild. The staff are very knowledgeable and personable. Fortunately for us, the night we visited was not too busy so we were able to benefit from a very positive educational session on Irish Whiskies. As whiskey enthusiasts we were very much at home here and closing time came much too soon.

We arrived into the bar and asked if there were any whiskeys with honey in them to which we were quickly told "no" by the not so friendly bar man. Perhaps he could have started his next sentence with "But the closest thing to a whiskey honey is..." I later discovered that there were a number of whiskeys which contained honey. He locked the front door at 11.30 which is the usual procedure but then disappeared from the bar and never even called last orders!! Disappointing experience from a whiskey enthusiast. Lovely interior to the bar.

Bianca is a friendly and very knowledgeable bartender! She could tell us anything we wanted to know about Irish whiskey and gin. And Owen makes a fantastic gimlet! Everything from the music to the lighting was perfect. We had a great time at this classy yet laid back bar.

Stopped off in this great pub for a drink, just a short walk from our hotel, and on the way to our chosen restaurant. Great selection of drinks, including my personal favourite Irish whiskey. A cosy pub, and very comfortable. Recommended.

All waiters with the exception of one ( nice man with glasses) was rude and unfriendly. At one point a male waiter approached me, in the ladies toilet when I wasnt finished washing my hands and asked me to leave because he hadn't seen me ordering anything?? Meanwhile I was sitting at a table eating pizza and having a few drinks with my friends. Later in the night we ordered a round of drinks well before last order was called which was rudely refused by two waiters, whilst the table beside us was given drinks without a bother. Would not return due to poor table service and rude table staff.

I was in Kilkenny last night with a few friends and visited this Bar. It was easily the biggest disappointment of what was an otherwise excellent trip. I had recommended this place to my friends based on the description of the bar on its website. I was let down on a couple of fronts. Firstly I am a huge Bob Dylan fan. Where was the memorabilia? Where was the music? I actually can't think of a less Dylanesque place. Horrible modern day chart hits. Overpriced drink. Tasteless, bland interior. There was nothing quaint, quirky or unique about this place whatsoever. It was a bog standard modern Irish bar with all that entails. I struggle to remember seeing anyone drinking whiskey either. It was all pints. Surrounded by pints of Smithwicks in a sweaty cattle market like Irish bar. We may as well have been in Diceys or Coppers. I saw Bob recently and he was looking a bit frail. If he was ever to find out about the existence of this place it might be enough to finish him off.

The Dylan Whisky Bar has a terrific sound system and we heard the best of live music. The landlord loves his job and his choice of background music is impeccable. The owner is an inspiration and has created the bar with love and respct. Great atmosphere and good whisky and conversation second-to-none!

I had read the reviews before and was excited to bring my husband as he loves to try different whiskies. When we went in we thought it was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and really cosy. However it was a bit strange for a whiskey bar not to have any whiskey menus out. So my husband went up and asked for one and the barman gave it to him. He went up and told the barman the whiskey he had selected and the barman said they didn't have it. So my husband asked him what he would recommend and he just threw his eyes to heaven and didn't suggest anything. I think if a place markets itself as a whiskey bar the staff should have at least some knowledge or enthusiasm for whiskey but on our visit there was no evidence of this. We just had one drink and left and wouldn't return.

We have a good selection of old - vintage and discontinued Whiskies available to purchase. Unfortunately we don’t ship so you got to visit and see some of the rare gems in stock. These Whiskies change continuously due to their rarity so - if what’s in shop today sells, it might never be seen again.
