After a previous bad experience in a food pub in kilkenny , I'm delighted to review Cleared's pub on parliament street . A genuine shabby chic , as in " still in original state " . A real pub atmosphere , good pint and a real ham sandwich. Bar staff were very pleasant , not " sweet " , and... More

Mick Walsh leads this longstanding session - one of the longest running sessions in Ireland. You never know exactly who is going to show up but it is always good!

Cleere’s Bar is the original of the species, a tradition Irish bar with plenty of local banter, fantastic traditional music played by super talented musicians, one of the best pints of ale or stout to be found anywhere in Ireland and to top it off, home cooked food that tastes so good it sends the memory banks back to the... At the recommendation of the lady who ran the B&B where we stayed in Kilkenny, we visited Cleere's for dinner. It is a small, local pub in town. Does not look like much from the outside (or the inside) but the food, music and atmosphere were fantastic. First, the food. Very good! I had an Irish stew (made with lamb)... More

We came to have a drink and listen to some traditional Irish music. It turned into a magical first night in Ireland with so many talented musicians, plus some local characters, plus friendly and fun wait staff. This did not feel like a touristy place but rather a fun slice of local life. A real highlight!

Wandered down to parliament street on the recommendation of a local and ended up popping into Cleere's as we heard some great Trad music coming from inside. This place did not disappoint, we were lucky to walk into an amazing Trad music and spoken word night, very authentic experience probably one of our favourite nights of our whole Ireland trip!

We were actually told about Cleere's while we were drinking at another pub down the road by a local. So, we thought we would go and check it out. The pub itself is small but not too small, it was small in a cozy kind of way, the bar tender was a kind young man who sat and told us... More

A must for the weary traveller, offering quality porter, beers, ales, lagers, one to suit all tastes. Cosy, warm atmosphere, friendly staff, run by Paul, a friendly, homely spot, a buzz place to be. Offers homemade food, when they say doorstep sandwiches they mean Doorsteps.
