The tour was about as good a tour I've ever been on. Being a native of County Kilkenny, I learned a bucket tonne of things I never realised about the city in an entertaining and informative manner. Pat was an entertainer and great craic but thoroughly professional at the same time. Highly recommend it, and you're better off paying the extra 4 quid for the guided tour.

My husband and I visited the museum on Friday to start our weekend trip to Kilkenny. We did the guided tour with guide John who was really excellent. The museum itself has very interesting and thought provoking displays which don t overwhelm you but still inform you. John was a font of knowledge and his passion for his subject was very obvious. Its a great place to start a trip to Kilkenny as it gives you your bearings and John gave us lots of local knowledge and tips.We really enjoyed our visit and learned a lot in a short space of time.

I did the walking tour recently with a friend who was visiting Kilkenny and all I can say is wow - what a fantastic addition the Medieval Mile Museum is to Kilkenny!
Our tour guide was excellent, and we passed two engrossing hours learning about Kilkenny's medieval history - so many facts were imparted, but in a funny and interesting way where we were never overloaded. Any questions we had were easily answered in great detail and we were clearly in the hands of an expert who is passionate about her subject.
After the tour it was back to the museum, which made for interesting perusal having done the tour and with everything put in context. If you’re new to Kilkenny I’d recommend heading here first as your first port of call - it’s sets the scene for everything else you’ll see in the city and is so throughly worthwhile.

We were greeted by a lovely staff member who was happy to share his break sharing his local knowledge with us before we even got to the door !!! We had prebooked online but seemed to be no issue with people getting tickets on arrival. We used the audio guide which offered more information at the press of a button if you wished. Despite the size of the building the wealth of information was brilliant and the church is beautifully refurbished leaving some of the original structure in key areas. Staff were very friendly and great value for money.

We called into the Medieval Museum to check out the history of Kilkenny & it was a very interesting few hours to see all the exhibits in the Church & view the interactive displays throughout the building. The staff were very informative with some great stories to tell about the history of the city & past inhabitants. Well worth a visit if you want to explore the city

The medieval mile museum located in Kilkenny city, this museum tells the history of 800 years. When you enter you are givin an audio guide which is very useful the staff are very helpful always walking around and telling historical stories.
There is also a special lego figure hunt for kids. It is way harder than you would think and so much fun. This museum was a great hour of fun they have some very cool artifacts and did you know the graveyard contains 70,000 bodies. I know crazy. This is a must see for all ages!

Our guides were great and very knowledgeable. They explained everything with great humour and made it even more interesting than what it was. For any history buffs or those who appreciate cultures and history, this is a great place. Very clean, great gift shop, and amazing new restored and renovated premises.

I decided to do the guided tour based on reviews I read. And I’m so glad I did. My tour guide was Anna and not only was she extremely knowledgeable about Kilkenny’s history, but you could tell she was genuinely interested and passionate about it, which made the tour even better. We spent an hour walking around various sites in the city and I left feeling like I had such a greater understanding and appreciation for this magnificent place.

You must visit this museum while in Kilkenny. Our tour guide John was one of the best we’ve ever had in all our travels. Really enjoyed the 1 hour tour. The museum is an old church that they’ve done an absolutely wonderful job preserving and modernizing into an attraction that gives you a great appreciation for Kilkenny City and it’s long and incredible history.

I’m wondering which sites the walking tours stops at and about how much distance is covers. I have a couple of sites I’d like to see, like St Candice Cathedral, and I’m wondering if stops like that are included. Also, my elderly parents will be with us so I’d like to how much walking is involved. Thanks!!!
