Castletown is the first and largest mansion in Ireland and is just 20km from Dublin City Centre and sits on the banks of the River Liffey. The house is open daily for tours Mid March to the 31st October 2016, access to the house is by guided tour. Admission fee to the house see website for prices. FREE admission to the restored 18th century parklands, open daily throughout the year. For gate opening times see website or refer to the signs on the site. Extensive events programme which includes: Children's art and craft workshops, free music recitals, parkland tours, evening concerts, 'Family nights' in the Courtyard Café for all this and more refer to website.

We had such an amazing time touring the castle. The history was eye-opening and intriguing. We've been there twice now. The children loved it. It's a nice family day out activity.

Took the tour, walked the grounds and visited the cafe. Delightful experience. The House is magical and historically authentic. Our tour guide was terrific. The grounds are a wonderful place to relax and stroll. Don't miss it.

Very friendly and accommodating tour guide took us on a lovely long tour of the house. The grounds are amazing with great paths and dogs on leash are permitted. Great place for a day out, lots to see and a nice tea room.

Playground now and fairy garden.lego exhibition at the moment also! Great place!
