Nice walk in the Gap of Dunloe; the other side is the Black Valley. The road wanders to Brandon cottages where you can pick up a traditional boat to Ross castle and Killarney.

If you like a driving challenge this is for you. Narrow winding road with a few passing places and you never know what is round the next bend. I can fully believe that electricity only came to the valley in 1976!

This is one of many beautiful stops in and around Killarney National Park. It's just a 15-20 minute drive from Killarney.

The Black Valley lies between Moll's Gap and Gap of Dunloe. The road is very narrow and winding. The scenery is lovely, a glacial landscape. I recommend travelling early morning when it is quieter, we travelled along the road at 8am.

Travelling around the Black Valley is not for the faint hearthed, roads very narrow and can be busy at peak times but the views make the effort worthwhile.Feeling of isolation at times.

Part of Gap of Dunloe. Breathtaking views! I love this place. The road is very small, so make sure you are a good driver. Therefore driver cannot view the scenery as much. I would like to do it again!

Not for the faint of heart. Winding, narrow and steep roads take you on a tour of magical natural scenes.

A must see if you are in the area. Beautiful, remote scenery with unparalleled vistas -- one drives a single lane road down a desolate, windy, narrow valley full of sheep. We started at the top and drove down the valley (leaving Kenmare and heading...More

We took a tour of the Ring of Kerry with a private local driver and were able to sit back and relax during a full day tour from Killarney. We saw the Gap of Dunloe, Ladies View, the cliffs, Black Valley and the green countryside.
