The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. Pre-booking avoids disappointment Locations for Hawk Walks may change due to conditions but normally 5/10mins drive from Killarney town centre Kind Regards Killarney Falconry Geoffrey 0872401551 / 00353872401551

Geoffrey O'Donoghue was a wonderful host. Despite some initial difficulties with finding our meeting place (hint: as soon as you go over the bridge, park immediately on the left), we rescheduled and had a delightful time meeting Donnie (short for Donatello), a Harris hawk, as well as an Irish barn owl and a Great Gray owl.

An amazing experience and one of the highlights of the whole trip. You'll get coordinates as to where to meet you guide, a little off the beaten path. Our group of four met Liam to go on a walk with Arizona the Hawk. You'll learn a lot, get to feed and hold Arizona and get so many incredible pictures. After... More

My wife and I made a reservation well in advance, and met Liam on the edge of the city for our 1 hour "walk down the wooded lane" with his Harris Hawk (Arizona). It was truly the highlight of our experiences in Ireland! We laughed and giggled; we were giddy! It was VERY informative, for we knew nothing about Falconry.... More

This activity was likely the best thing we did all vacation. The meet-up spot is just off some major roads and has a nice path to walk along off the side of the road. Our gide, Liam, brought his colleague's Harris Hawk, Arizona. Arizona was great, did exactly what you would expect from a Hawk. Liam got us some great... More

Geoffrey was able to accommodate us on short notice via email the day before, and even called the morning of to check in about the weather. The location is just a short, 10 min drive from the city centre of Killarney. If you're without a vehicle, like we were, all of the taxi drivers in town know Geoffrey, where to... More

This was the highlight of our trip!!!! Liam was beyond amazing and answered all of our {million} questions about the birds, plus general inquires about Ireland and it's natural inhabitants. We loved every moment on our 'hawk walk' & Arizona was equally a rockstar. Being able to 'hold' the owls afterwards was an extra treat! I could literally write a... More

This is a must do for everyone who have a couple of hours spare time in Killarney. Beautiful birds, great scenery during the hawk-walk and Geoff's friendliness and knowledge about falconry & it's history was truly remarkable.

First just know that you need to call and book you can't just show up. The bishop Moynihan address is no good. Also, you're meeting a guy with a van in the middle of the forest and it isn't weird. We were given GPS coordinates and met Jeffrey on the road. We were introduced to Texas the hawk. Jeffrey was... More

We spent an hour with Liam from Killarney Falconry in late October and had a great time. The weather was beautiful as we walked along a field. We wore gloves and the hawk would fly to our hand when we held a piece of chicken. Liam was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Before leaving, we were able to hold two owls... More

I surprised my husband with this "halk walk" because he enjoys falcons. We had a great time. Liam was awesome and answered all of our questions and was very informational. I happened to fall in love with Mr.D the cutest barn owl ever.
